Oh rabbits! What was Shocker's verdict on Resurrection? I am on the edge of my seat I CANT STAND THE CONFUSION IN MY MIIIIIIIIIIIIND! Also will he ever finish Seeds of Death or will the Ice Warriors win?!?!

Oh gosh I didn't give my verdict!
Yes, liked it a lot. Story was good. After an initial nostalgia driven positivity for the 5th Doctor, I am finding him the weakest so far. I was so impressed with 2nd and 7th, and 3rd was a revelation, with 4th my favorite of all, 5th just hasn't done much for me. He's not bad! I just expected to be more into him than I am, as courageous as he was in Caves of Aswad.

Yes. Douglas Adams was script editor at the time but the script for that story wasn't working out, so as Blue said, he rewrote it pretty much from scratch in a weekend. He script edited Doctor Who just before Hitch Hikers took off. If I recall, Hitch Hikers was commissioned just after he took the Who job.

Cracking story. Written mostly by Douglas Adams under a pseudonym. Wow, really?!?!!!! Oh yes, can't you see the resemblance between the core plot of this - alien's spaceship exploding creates life on earth and he wants to stop the explosion happening - and the central theme of Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency? The rest of Dirk Gentlys, all the University stuff, is another Doctor Who story, the cancelled Shada. Life, the Universe & Everything is a rework of a DW film proposal, DW & The Krikketmen and rips off the scene from Dalek Masterplan where the Tardis materialises at a cricket match. In fact the mice in HHGTTG may be inspired by another piece of Hitchhikers and there's a distinct resemblance between elements of HHGTTG and Pirate Planet, namely planets round planets, as Douglas was writing both at the same time.

whose guard is the late, great Peter Halliday who Shockprowl saw as the Vicar in Rememberance. Ian, have you spotted Douglas in the Cafe yet? And do let us know when you get to that fabulous bit in part 4.

I love City of Death, even though (especially though?) at times it feels like a chilled out extended travelogue It's just brilliant. I'd use the line from episode 4 but I don't think he's got there yet. I missed it on first transmission and remember it VERY clearly from it's 1980 repeat. Since it never had a Target book it was my first day one vhs buy.

Blimey, what a story this story has!
I missed him in the cafe scene though. Must rewatch!
Post nightshiftness claimed me part way through ep 3. I will retwatch part 3 and then watch part 4 tomorrow after dreaded Apprentice!
It's a strangely compelling story this....

Hush with your lies. Nimon's good, but City is better.
But we all know neither is the best story that season.

Douglas in City of Death: During the first scene in the coffee shop, when Romana is sketched, he's sitting at the bar, behind the Doctor. Then when the Doctor & Romana are marched back in he's sitting at a table with someone else
