It is, because it was a lost story which was unearthed in Hong Kong in the early 90s and rushed out onto video in a blaze of publicity. At which point everyone could evaluate for themselves how good it was instead of having to rely on the ancient memories of 60s fans telling them it was good. And they would be right as it's brilliant, a 10/10 classic. All the people who say otherwise are hipsters!  |

If you start asking questions about Cybermen timelines and chronologies, the universe will implode.
In fact, this story had a sort of sequel - Colin Baker's second story 'Attack of the Cybermen' returns to the tombs on Telos.

Ah yes, the dispute. Now going by the Doc's venerable list, we have Carnival of Monsters followed by The Three Doctors, which he's done I think because the second is a more significant story than the first.
However, Phil has argued equally that these stories were broadcast the other way round originally as the first and second stories of Season 10. There is a vague continuity between them because events in The Three Doctors allow Carnival of Monsters to come about.
SO! does Shockers stick with the Doc's order, which has been rock solid so far, or go with Phil's suggestion of watching the eight episodes of the two stories as they were originally shown?

There is only the slightest link between them and as you took to the 3rd Doc so much then seeing his big multi-Doctor story after a quietier affair will amplify its effect a thousand-fold!
