Newish thing to Netflix, called Norseman. It is essentially GoT meets Monty Python. Filmed in English by actual Norwegians. It's pretty amusing.

Hmmm. Going by episode 1, He-Man is a bit pixilated on Netflix. Almost like it hasn't been de-interlaced properly. It's really obvious on curves. -Ralph Not tried He-Man but She-Ralph episodes seem to struggle to load at times. Possibly a related problem?

WHAT. Mr Babylon 5 wrote She Ra? Cannot compute. And Real Ghost busters and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors He was script editor and writer on all of those. Left Filmation as they wouldn't credit him and Larry DiTillio with the script editor position. You can really tell how much fun they had with it all

Well I'll be. Fancy that. Of the She-Ra episodes, "Horde Prime Takes a Holiday" is top notch (That's by JMS and Bob Forward!) "My Friend, My Enemy" is a pretty amazing one too (not by JMS but that was one of the ones he script edited) The whole show honestly feels like the writers were having a grand time trying to one-up each other with absolutely ridiculous Silver-Age Superman feats for She-Ra. One week she's doing a one-woman orbital reentry just using her sword, the next week she's moving the moon with her flying unicorn, the next week she's stitching up a giant crack to hell or whatever was going on in that episode. Real Ghostbusters wise, watch Ragnarock and Roll (s1 e32 on Netflix). Makes you simultaneously realise what a great grip JMS had on the show and the characters, and what a waste the new movie was (lololol gross-out humour) (also the hunchback in it is called DiTillio, zing!) Given how much he worked with Larry DiTillio and Bob Forward, it's one of those sad missed opportunities that JMS never was involved in Beast Wars!

Now that I've seen Star Trek: Discovery I have been able to do a fast gravitational assist manuever to get me back around to The Expanse. Probably one of my favourite things I've seen on Netflix since I first got it at the beginning of this year. Definitely has an old-school SF vibe to it, in terms of having fairly deep world-building and credible, flawed characters who interact in interesting ways.
Also it does have one of my favourite TV spaceships of recent years in the Rocinante. I get why one of the characters is so taken with that ship, she's a lovely design both on a practical level and in a "real-physics" aesthetic kind of way. (To be honest the only reason the Roci isn't my favourite TV spaceship of the last few years is that Lucy in Killjoys does such a fantastic line in sarcasm. If the Roci could talk, I think there is every chance she would be taking the top slot :-) ).

I should probably make more use of the many things on Netflix but my brain keeps telling me instead that all 700+ episodes of Star Trek are on there...

The 2013 pilot of THE SAINT was watched. Lead chap was fine and it had its moments but you can see why it did not go to series (miles better than the Val Kilmer film though). Elisha Dushka, sadly, does not look at all well in it.
AMERICAN NINJA 2: THE CONFRONTATION was much better.

I'd agree that the lead made a creditable Simon Templar - he had good on-screen charisma and pulled off the right balance of charming and dangerous. Overall though it felt a bit average, which is likely why it didn't get picked up. (Historical sidenote - despite there having been quite a few screen versions of The Saint over the years, it looks like Dushku is one of only two people in all that time to play Patricia Holm on-screen, despite her being a recurting character in the original books). One of these days I need to get around to watching Black Mirror - when I first heard of it I was not...in the correct mental place to watch it shall we say, and I haven't quite had a chance to loop back around on it since.
On a very unrelated note, I see that the Power Rangers film from last year is now up on Netflix. Tempted to give that a go. I've heard from several sources that it was surprisingly enjoyable, but finances did not permit me much leeway in terms of cinema trips last year. Might stick it in my "to watch" list and give it a go once I have something other than the Ipad I can watch Netflix on.
