New season of the Toys that Made Us has dropped on Netflix. Brilliant series. Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Ponies and Wrestling this time. Fantastic!

I love this series. I see now they're doing The Movies that Made Us too.
Today I have learned that Power Rangers only pilot giant robots because they nicked the idea from the 70s Japanese Spider-Man series... where Spider-Man fought evil villains by piloting a giant robot.

Have you not seen the glory that is Japanese Spider-Man?
The robot was put out again a few years ago but sadly it was verrrrry expensive.

Just come to the end of the second Punisher series. Frank's a really peculiar character to try and justify in his comic format, but he is done so well in these. Both seasons are fantastic. I remember thinking initially that John Bernthal looked nothing like the Punisher to me, I think Steve Dillon's version was my defacto Frank Castle, but he totally owns that character now. It's almost impossible to think of him being able to play anyone else. I must watch him in something else.

If you've any interest in basketball at all, The Last Dance is essential viewing. Blinder of a documentary series about the rise of the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan.

Not sure if this is a recent addition because I'm sure it wasn't there last time I looked, but I accidentally came across settings in the desktop version of Netflix (the website) earlier today that allow you to turn off automatically playing trailers and automatically starting the next episode in a series. Changing those settings then gets pushed out to any device you use Netflix on.
The fact Netflix keeps playing things at you when you're browsing the lists drives me absolutely potty, as does having to dive for the remote to stop it playing the next episode of something because I only ever watch one at a time. Switching those things off has given me a huge sense of relief and calm. It really used to wind me up. You can find those settings if you click on the username you want to set it for in the account settings.

We found these settings a few months back when they first became available. Netflix is now a vastly better experience.

Yes, four posts up. Change the settings that stop everything playing automatically because it will drive you potty.
Beyond that, all the Marvel stuff. But I know you won't! Discovery.

Yes, change the settings as Pinwig said.
All the Star Trek shows are there except for Picard and Lower Decks.
Avoid the Marvel shows.

Also not a fan of the She-Ra character design. First time I saw it my head went to child bodybuilder and which is always creepy.

Oh and discovered Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts. So glad I hadnt noticed it till the final season launched as I got to binge it over the weekend. Only about 30 episodes.
Super positive show with great music. Like a more focussed, but less complex Steven Universe. Amazing cast on it too.

I see Netflix have finally got round to locking user accounts to one network. No more sharing accounts with family in different houses. Does this mean you can't go round a friend's house and use your login to watch a film? Even though you're using your own account? Not that I've got any friends.
This is going to make wet breaks at school less bearable.

I think it is happening. I logged in last night and was confronted with a screen where I had to set my home network. There's a skip option currently, but not for long.
I read up a bit, it seems this happens on TV sets. Mobile devices don't count. I was connecting through my PS4 though.

I struggle to see how Netflix is going to survive longer term, as we were saying on the call last night, they've now trained their audience to expect nothing is going to last more than a couple of series, so why get invested in long term stories. The aggressive anti-sharing stance isn't helping them with the public either.
I suspect they will be the first big name to either fall, or aggressively contract.

Yeah, shows being culled quickly is why I stopped bothering to watch their Originals. The anti-sharing stuff pisses me off, partly as the service itself advertised this as a feature for years and partly because other services don't shout at their customers for it. When it fully comes in (paying for sharing) it will be £21 a month. Disney Plus is £8 a month and allows sharing. Yeah, Netflix is no longer competitive. I would get shot of it if it was just me, but Mrs Ralph and my folks use it a lot so sticking for now. -Ralph

I've been keeping Netflix at the moment, as there are a few things on there still that I want to see, but I'm at the stage where I am starting to think that it may be the first of my streaming services to be trimmed out. For me the thing that broke the back for me was that they dropped the adaptation of Cowboy Bebop, that I was mildly curious about, and then cancelled it about 72 hours later - before I had had the time to finish the thing I had been watching and give it a go. At that point I decided that there really wasn't any point - Netflix actively don't want me as a customer, because if they only want to make things were people rip through eight hours in two days...they aren't likely to be making things I want to sit back and take my time and enjoy...
At the moment it is a bit of a race between Disney Plus and Netflix as to which one gets consigned to "ocassional re-up for something" first. With Disney Plus I have to finish American Born Chinese, and decide if I want to watch Stumptown before I cancel, and with Netflix there are a bunch of tosh action movies I want to watch. It depends which one runs dry sooner.
But anything longform Netflix roll out is no longer a factor in my considerations, because they actively don't want me to enjoy watching it, so... (as tay-tay would put it),yeah...
Might hang onto Prime a little longer, I could perhaps go a rewatch of The Expanse before I get around to snagging the DVDs, and their ad-supported service has Person of Interest.

I deleted Prime recently. Dreadful interface, things pop off and there so quickly and randomly there was little point saving them to watch later. Mixing 'pay more' with 'including in subscriptions' items irritated me immensely. Only hung on to it see Picard s3 then cancelled once watched.
Amazon also has the same problem as Netflix: hyping big shows then cancelling them a few days later before I've had the chance to check them out. This approach trained me not to bother. I don't like to feel pressured to watch new stuff instantly.
