Interesting presentation from Mattel, although it didn't tell us anything new except for Geldor. The Masterverse Horde Trooper looks nicely chunky but I'm well out of that game now. I liked the fact they reiterated they're going to do all of the 80s figures in Origins, but with another 12 to go on top of the ones we already know for sure are coming it's going to take them a while at this speed, especially putting in extras like Geldor. However, I'm fine with that if it means they do them properly - moving Sy-Klone to a bespoke Deluxe price point so he has his actual spinning play feature intact is cool.

I see Sy-Klone is still up as of half eight. Maybe they upped the numbers on this one as its part of their Pulseco- I mean REVEALED event.

Isn't Sy-Klone effectively the second at that size after Moss Man?

I think they're using those boxes for them all now. Mouse Jaw is in one. The older ones like the Eternian Guard were wider weren't they. Lady Slither's needed to fit her tail. But it feels like the prices reflect the figure rather than a size. £25 is pretty good for a unique play feature and those accessories.

If my life wasn't in the toilet, I would have picked this up for £35 in Game.

I've not been "doing" Origins for a while now, I even sold off a few, but that Stealth Ninja Leonardo is speaking to me.

Nice. I saw that turtles image the other day but it was too low res to see the product codes.
The Turtles line is amazing. I'm all in 100% on that. I wasn't going to go for the filmation figures but I seem to have ended up with them anyway. As said on the call though, I've ended up with five US and one Euro, so Skeletor has a different card back to the others. Annoying.

There are more pictures of the Collector on Facebook, probably in a group I can't link to. It seats three figures! Actually, this one's probably okay www.facebook.com/813050180855183

Some really nice reveals there, although I'm surprised no-one's yet highlighted the fact that they've snuck a movie Beast Man in there! That said, I'm not that excited, because he's listed as being available through "Fan Channels", which means that he'll be expensive and impossible to get. ("Fan Channel" is a daft term anyway - I'm a big fan of being able to walk into an actual shop and buy a thing without hassle.)
The Collector was a nice surprise at first... but it is somewhat basic inside, just a plastic clamshell really. I know it's meant to fit the Filmation animation style, but it would've been really interested if what they'd actually done was work backwards from the show's depiction of The Collector to come up with what its toy would have actually looked like had it been released in the '80s. Still, nice that they've done it at all.
The Turtles of Greyskull stuff is also nice, and I think my favourite has to be that Mer-Man - it looks so good in translucent blue and with that tail.
I think my favourite reveal though has to be that Skeletor and his throne. The throne's lovely, but the Skeletor's so reminiscent of the early minicomics and tie-in book artwork. Again, if it didn't cost a fortune and turn out to be impossible to get I'd certainly be tempted by that...

That is a very daft term. Why not just say "selected webstores"? Fan Channels sounds more like some sort of "club member exclusive" nonsense, rather than just implying e-commerce. Or possibly I am just old and this is how the English language works now. Karl

Enough about that. How is your Origins collection coming along? -Ralph It's bloomin' fabulous. I have a castle and a Skeletor and a He-man. All provided by a mysterious benefactor. What more could I possibly need? Well that escalated...

Tonight I finally opened, stickered and assembled Castle Grayskull. Almost two years after recieving it. What a thing of beauty it is! A big chunky playset with play features and accessories. Hours of fun placing figures. This is what makes life worth living.

Castle Greyskull is indeed great. It's currently in the middle of our lounge floor with a Brio train track running through the jawbridge...
