Well first is production minimum deadline - ie, if they don't get enough it won't go ahead. Second is if they get above the minimum the length of time they are willing to add extra orders. Doesn't seem that complicated, but perhaps I'm spending too much time at work....

I am only ever familiar with any other pre-order I have ever seen, ie order by this date before the product is no longer orderable or rises in price.

And with utter predictability, we have an inept begging video for Castle Greyskull within a week:
"Look at our crappy foam model! We can't show you a proper mock-up even know we are a huge multinational toy company with decades of toy selling experience! Now give us $250+ shipping even though we can't quite confirm what you'll actually get!"

As we called it, less than a week!
They don't have the resources to sculpt it? So all those test shots/macquettes we've seen from MOTU/Transformers and other toylines - where did they come from?
Seriously, I think Neitlich and MOTUC need to go away and soon.

They are so inept it is laughable. Behold how they sell this on their site order page. Squint at a couple of small drawings and, er, watch a video for the 80's version. www.mattycollector.com/store/matty/en_US/pd/productID.258165100"because this is a work-in-progress, features may be added or removed from the proposed design, but we can’t confirm anything now." Er, yes. -Ralph

"because this is a work-in-progress, features may be added or removed from the proposed design, but we can’t confirm anything now." So basically, "Give us money. In return we will give you something of some sort. But we can't tell you what it will be like". I am shaking my head in befuddlement. Karl

While I would love a big shiny new Castle Greyskull set, I'm not ordering one because they can't show me what the product actually is and that is essential for any sales transaction. Especially for a big ticket-item!

" It will only HELP get the most amount of resources for the Castle if we can hit our min well before the deadline."
Um no, Matty. Here is how time-limited pre-orders work. You set the order limit you need to have the resources to make something. You get the numbers you need, you make the product or you have angry customers who paid for something who find it is less than expected. And you wonder how your customer base has been dwindling for your line?
Also, maybe actually producing some advertising rather than making your fanbase do that for you for free might be an idea.

Oh, look. Another "last minute rush" just like the 2013 subs, eh? Anyone seeing a pattern here? I call bullshit on Matty's bizarre way of hyping orders. he-man.org/news_article.php?id=3033Priceless line: "We realize you took a leap of faith by pre-ordering based only on a few drawings and a foam mockup." Says it all really. -Ralph
