Found a copy of TRIAL BY FIRE in newsagent and red hazed. The UK and US Headmasters stories in one volume? I had no choice. -Ralph Though I instantly regretted my purchase when I saw the repro quality for WORLD'S APART. Fuck me sideways. That is dreadful. So washed out and faded. Can't help but feel I could do better myself just by putting the original issue in a scanner! -Ralph

While I have been critical of the repro, I was reading Hachette's EDGE OF EXTINCTION volume earlier and that's the first time I've seen Marvel US #75 without the blurry page when Unicron attacks. This pleased me immensely.

Issues 16 & 17 now listed on Forbidden Planet site via Previews. War & Peace and Primacy respectively. The former I suppose will just be the 6 issue miniseries, but the latter better be more than just those four issues. Maybe they will combine with previous Monstrosity series as the complete arc totals 328 pages. (HT Philip Ngui on the Facebook page for this) Thoughts?

War & Peace can't be v26 because it happens after v29 Warwithin 1. ?

I managed (twice!) to get the original source wrong on Twitter, but I believe that Guido Blitzwing is the first cover not to be from the same stock library that all the art has been from so far (as you can see, it's far less animation model based than those). It's still old material of course, but if they're branching out to IDW covers, that means we could start seeing more variety. It's a shame it's too late to stick a Headmaster on the Headmasters book.

[For those that don't follow Stuart on twitter, the source of the Blitzwing cover is from Infiltration #3. The Guidi covers for the IDW Transformers Classics Marvel US reprint books are all from incentive variants he did for Infiltration.] It would be interesting to see if those covers crop up anywhere else, to see whether they've entered the world of Hasbro stock library. Here's the Prime cover for an example:

This week's issue is the first chunk of Regeneration One so I had to have it. I now predict IDW will announce the HC version of Regen One that I had been holding out for in hope!

I'm only buying the volumes containing proper Marvel TF stories... so skipping this one.

What's the volume number for it? Where have they fitted it in the overall order?

So before Dreamwave then? Driving home the 'official conclusion' thing, aren't they...

Aye. Considering the refusal to even mention G2 in previous books, I'm more curious about what sort of train wreck the behind the scenes stuff will read as than the actual comic...

Aha. Right, so straight after the 332 end? I might have those too then, cos the spines will fit.

So if Volume 18 goes up to #75, five US issues isn't much to spread over volume 19 and 20. Wonder what else is in those.

9 and 10 arrived! In a comedically oversized box with no padding. Amazingly the bookends came out damaged: I won't have time to sit down with them till I've finished the current Who partwork issues, but a quick glance suggests two things: Worlds Apart really is as washed out as people have said. And, very much against my expectations, the introduction to Reg mentions G2. Albeit just in a list of Things Wot Furman Wrote after the Marvel comic ended. Looks like the rest of the background material pretends there was no prior Marvel follow ups and the American series totally had a rushed conclusion (which it didn't really, it had a big finale and then a five issue coda. Many cancelled comics would probably kill for that. G2 and the UK series leave more legitimate loose ends as a result...). It does look like the making of stuff, though not as scathing as Wildman was on panels at AA, is fairly honest about how much Hasbro didn't want to do this. Hopefully somewhere they'll be a note clarifying this is ignoring the British stuff, otherwise in the context of a series that otherwise presents the Marvel stuff as a whole that'll get confusing to new readers.

The bookends will be rubbish anyway. They'll be the same as the Dredd ones - because the metal is flimsy and so much is punched out of it for the design, they aren't actually strong enough to hold the books vertical.

I got mine today as well. No Transformer bookends but a mint set of Warhammer ones.
I have also had to correct my address with them three times in the last month and my replacement #1 is still pending. It all started off so well until about six weeks ago...
Once it has arrived I will now be cancelling subscription and ordering direct from local WHSmiths.

Arrived today. The address was more messed up than last time, my name was back to front and no house number. Last time the house number was after the street name. Bookends arrived safely but issue 9 had taken a large knock. Used the online chat to cancel the sub and get a set of replacements.
They did say the address were a result of computer glitch that should be sorted now. We'll see when/if the replacement copies show up.

Received 'Wanted' and 'Hearts Of Steel' today. Hadn't realised that I've never read HoS before. It's a nice mug too.

Got my bookends today & my last parcel because getting from shop now the free gifts are over. We are getting the whole of Earthforce - JP is going to be colouring them. But its how they explain stuff in v17,19,20? The line - Optimus Prime is leaving Grimlock on earth while he goes deal with unicron.

I really enjoyed reading the first chunk of Regeneration One in hardcover format and look forward to the rest. Still sticking with the Marvel run, the rest of Regeneration One and War Within II when it comes out. The local newsagent seems to be getting in 2 copies of each issue so I can still get the ones I want for now.

I'm eager to see if Smith's can provide tomorrow, but I think they've stopped getting it. I shall start making a list of volumes to pick up at a later date.

Smith's should be able to reserve it for folk even if they stop carrying it regularly.
For people only after certain issues, there's always the website if all else fails.
Subscribers are of course the lifeblood of a series like this, considering how many people seem to have-rightly-been cheesed off to the point where they're either going to newsagents (where Hachette get less from each copy) or giving up entirely, I hope they've not shot themselves in the foot over the long term viability of keeping it going.
Probably not considering the cost cutting (with the exception of the new colouring) keeping the profit margin low, but if it does they've only themselves to blame.

WHSmith can but you need to pay £20 to set it up but you do get that back later. I'm going to get #11 off the shelf. They still put 1 copy of #6-10 out, they did get 10 copies of #1-5 in
