What a mess... For the record, here's what's not apparently getting a reprint: Marvel: The Gift, every text story (Missing in Action, Hunted, In the Beginning..., The Return of the Transformers, State Games, The Mission, The Headmasters Saga, The Saga of the Transformers, Prime-Bomb, The Quest, Trigger-Happy, The Magnificent Six, Another Time and Place), Transformers Universe Dreamwave: Ongoing 0-10, Micromasters, Summer Special, Divided Loyalties, Age of Wrath (summarised, but not actually reprinted), remaining More Than Meets the Eye G1 and Armada, Armada Preview-7, Energon 19-30 (not G1, but neither was Armada, so...) IDW: New Avengers, Last Stand trade/hardback extras, Shining Armor, TF v Visionaries, Deviations, TF/Joe Black Cybertron, The Movie, and maybe FCBD (I haven't actually checked if that one's included), Beast Wars Sourcebook, Dawn of the Predacus, Star Trek v TF, TF/Ghostbusters, TF 84 0 3H/FunPub: Everything... Now, it's possible some of that will be used to fill pages; I can easily see the BW Sourcebook or Predacus filling out the two BW books, and maybe TF/Joe Movie being in one of the three(!) Devil's Due books. And, of course, a lot of that DW stuff is off limits. But that still leaves significant gaps. The complete lack of text stories is my particular bugbear. Some of those are Important, dammit, and some haven't ever been reprinted. (Let me know if I've missed anything.) Jeezo. I mean, "definitive" isn't exactly the same as promising every piece of Transformers G1 fiction ever made but still there's a lot here I'd have loved in the set as well as a lot I really won't miss (Dreamwave - did anyone genuinely want to read Micromasters again? And if so what's wrong with you?). But my hopes for printed volumes of the 3H/Funpub catalogue are basically as dead as the Matrix Flame now. A shame, though I have most of the material in other forms. Just really wanting this collection over and done with now. It'll be over by christmas and (hah!) will have taken about as long as WWI too...

I think from the omitted stuff the most glaring ones from Marvel are State Games and Another Time and Place. Especially how State Games is a definite inspiration for a lot of IDW stuff, you would have at least thought if it's not going in the regular run - do an Eaglemoss and bung it in beside Megatron: Origin. Likewise with ATAP - put that beside the last volume of RG1 or G2 Part 2.
DW - Not much missed that is essential, though getting the ongoing first 6 issues would have been okay, and thankfully Burns and I are spared the Micromaster forfeit - that could have been expensive.
3H - a missed opportunity and I would have gotten trades of them all.

I think the most glaring omission is Transformers Universe - that was a full Marvel US mini-series, and IDW reprinted it in Transformers Classics Vol. 8 despite skipping lots of stuff Hachette has used. Why would Hachette omit something IDW treated as part of the main US classic run?

Considering it was only missed out originally by mistake and was specifically cited as being planned to appear in the extension, I'd say The Gift is the most glaring omission.
I know it's a silly hill to die on, but this is the first time I've been buying Transformers material in 30 years, and I did so partly to get a full reprint run of the comics I read as a kid. I'll be quite bloody annoyed if it doesn't appear, especially when the range editor has said it should be in there.

Furman is the editor but I dunno feels like at some point he either lost interest or his attention was taken up by other projects. His lack of awareness of what Dreamwave was available and his yeah that will be or might be included with the shoe horning in of some of the new era material.
It could have been a better collection especially when you see the effort the new editor did with the Star Trek graphic novel collection when it was becoming a disaster and he put allot of great work into the collection and attempting to have a complete collection. Heck more chance seeing Transformers Star Trek in that collection.

He's the consultant editor - which means he was brought on to the project but isn't in charge of it- the clearances and rights would be something done by Hachette (or not done) before he was involved and I am assuming they fed him a line.

Does anyone else find it amusing that Hachette will complete their hardback IDW collections far sooner than IDW's own "IDW Collection" series?

That was the reason why I switched from the IDW books to the hachette ones. I was a bit worried a few years back that at two volumes a year, IDW would lose interest in their version before they got to the end.

G2 Part 1 obtained, again by paying over the odds. Could someone please tell me the proper way (and time) for securing Part 2 so I don't have to do it by trawling eBay after the fact? Martin Due 12 August according to Hachette website, not up on Forbidden Planet website yet that I can see.

I've got volume 86 now. #13-18 of Lost Light as expected, and the first half of the Transformers Historia (covering up to Last Stand of the Wreckers) as well as the Windblade profile from the book. Standard intro and cover gallery.

Also glad to hear Black Horizon will be included. Questions: 1) "Story so far" I assume is the Devil's Due saga up to this point? 2) 2x 'sketchbook' pages... so, 2 pages with small pencil version of pages 1-8? 3) Don's pencils? You mean Joe Ng, right? Thanks!

Oh, another question about vol 96 / issue 92, as I don't have my copies handy, what is the issue and page of the image on the cover?

Thanks! 1) Yes, there's always a Story So Far page in every book though. 2) Yes, four pages of pencil art on each. 3) I should have read it properly. The text a bottom says it's unused pencil art by Don. I assume then, he was due to draw it and had to drop out.

Oh, another question about vol 96 / issue 92, as I don't have my copies handy, what is the issue and page of the image on the cover? It's the 24th page of the strip. I've no idea if that's issue 1 or issue 2 though as there's no chapter breaks - likely #2? Story wise, the break could have been almost anywhere in the preceding few pages.

On 2 and 3, thanks! I'm surprised of the fact that Don was the original artist and this is not noted on the tfwiki page. I guess Hachette doesn't expand on that?
