That's utterly ludicrous....
A game where only two pawns remain on the board is an impossiblity!

Mind you, describing London as controversial and trendy is going a bit far.

Well, it may have been 'only a draw', but Aronian vs Ding (Ding is the first Chinese player to ever qualify for the Candidates) was anything but dull!
(see the coverage by 'Agadmator' on Youtube. Daniel king's 'Power Play Chess' also has good coverage)

I must say, although I usually go to Daniel King's 'Power Play Chess' or 'Agadmator' for my Youtube chess love, I must also recommend 'Mato Jelic', 'Kingcrusher', 'Suren', 'chess 24', and 'Chess to Impress' (who also has a very good training sister channel called 'Chess to Progress').

I think of it in terms of 'who is going to give Carlsen the biggest run for his money'. Karjakin scared the shit out of Carlsen last time, but, as any Great Champion does, when he had to, Carlsen shifted up that extra gear... I think Mamedrayov is another Karjakin. He'll be tough, damn tough, but ultimately, he wont have enough to beat Carlsen. Aronian though... has that weird extra creativeness, that us mortals cannot fathom. Like your Ivanchuks and Kasparovs. And Carlsens. That extra something. {Spoiler}But... not this time... Out of the ones still left with a realistic chance... Kramnik's one of the All Time Greats, but at the ripe old age of 42, I don't think he can keep THAT LEVEL for long enough. Last year Wesley So had it. He really seemed to have it. But this year, whatever he had... well it's just gone. Now, he's still good, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't anymore have the same it that he seemed to have been developing. But then there's Caruana. Caruana's the only other one who has consistently asked Carlsen questions. He's actually younger than Carlsen, but seems to have been around just as long. He's got it. {Spoiler}Having just beaten Aronian, he's top of the table. Can he do it...? Can he win the Candidates at last? If he does... well, Carlsen will have a real test on his hands. Whatever happens. Oh mama. This is goooooood chess, baby.

And so...
Inexorably...
It comes down to-
THE LAST ROUND.
Karjakin has made a stunning come back. Mamedyarov has faltered, but still has a chance. Caruana lost to Karjakin, therefore would loose on tie-break to Karjakin if they finish on equal points, but he still leads by half a point. Ding technically still has chance as well. And the others? There are a lot of wounded beasts desperate to save pride and rating points.
But here, at the end, whoever wants to win the Candidates MUST win today....
