Titan Cybertron Metroplex is a reasonable price these days but where would I put it? I keep being tempted but then reality hits me. -Ralph Mine sits besides my bedside cabinet with Grand Maximus & Black Zarak. Having recently acquired an axe for Cybertron Leader Metroplex I can testfy on what a HUGE upgrade the Titan is over the Leader Liz is away this week, so Jonathan and I have taken the opportunity to do some shelf rearranging, a relatively minor move of half a shelf of trades. To make that easier I've pulled the four Titans I keep in there out the library and they're lined up in front of the Television Unit with the Energon Omega Supreme body I got in the same lot the Metroplex axe came in. Energon Omega Supreme by himself is not a small toy, yet with this lot he's tiny, just above Siege Omega Supreme's waist and below TR Fort Max's. I can't help but think how good a Titans version would be, which was what spurred yesterday's comment bumping the thread. Core class figure as his "Minicon" Headmaster? Having done Armada Op this year that might lend itself well to doing a Commander Energon Op alongside Titan Energon Omega Supreme

As they're soooo toon though now I'd love a curve ball - Broadside the same height as Devastator. My suspicion is that the Holy Scale Guide shows Broadside's robot as being a lot smller that Titan size..... .... But pulling on the notion of a Titan Broadside is interesting: Large flat flight deck for launching dlx and Voyager jets off, I'm thinking similar to the size of the deck for T30 Metroplex. A control tower with space inside for Core figures? Jet mode with an opening cockpit for Core figures? Yup, I'd have money for that! But what if you repaint and slightly retool that with a new head as a GI Joe Crossover USS Flagg/Jet triple changer? www.yojoe.com/vehicles/85/ussflagg/The Flagg was an 1985 toy and C-85 is Broadside's Japanese number. Do it in black and the jet mode would be the Nightboomer (Black Skystriker)... www.yojoe.com/vehicles/89/nightboomer/.... and then with the right head the robot could be Snake Eyes, whose most famous version with a distinctive head which would translate well to a robot is also a US 85 toy www.yojoe.com/action/85/snakeeyes2.shtml

Yes, but the current design ethos for Generations figures appear to be allergic to play features. I cringe whenever the designers call out 'blast effects' and 'articulation' as play features. No they bloody aren't. Bring back firing missiles, you cowards!

An idea: Energon Omega Supreme for 2024 Titan? I'd rather an Animated Omega Supreme.

That has genuinely blown my mind. I mean I know he isn't the size of a Titan, but how is he that small?! That's potty.

My suspicion is that the Holy Scale Guide shows Broadside's robot as being a lot smller that Titan size..... I don't think he's on an official one is he? Sometimes the judgements they make come from the actual cartoons, but he is very inconsistent in that. I think it's unlikely because of the engineering need at that scale to make all three modes look right. It'd be harder than something less distinct like metroplex. But yes, having all the Aerialbots on deck would be a sight to behold, and a bridge that fitted titanmasters wouldn't be a difficult feature to add.

So am I to understand that what we regard as a 'big' Transformer has been skewed now by the titan line? That prior to T30 Metroplex, Energon Omega was still regarded as a whopper? He hasn't always been small has he?
No, I see from a list that the Maxes aside, only Supreme Cheetor/Starscream and Victory Saber are bigger than him. Armada Unicron if you turn his horns up. Wow. How tiny are the chaps we used to think of as huge.

There's now TWO Energon Omega Supremes in the room, the incomplete one out of the eBay lot and the complete one which arrived this evening. Complete is on the sofa next to me and looks HUGE. And in front of me is what you can see in the photo and he looks so small. And it's the same toy!!!
(This is not a small or far away thing!)

For me it was Combiners. I was marvelling at UW Computron towering over the regular guys and then Fort Max arrived and I had to recalibrate everything.

There are some toys that it's quite easy to forget how massive they were compared to their contemporaries until you put them side by side. Armada Tidal Wave and the original Ultra Magnus spring to mind.

Overlord for me. Not so much against his contempories, but put alongside TR Overlord and what passes for a large toy gets all screwy.

I'm still troubled by this but I can't work out why. Did I used to think Armada Prime and Energon Omega were REALLY BIG toys? Did I ever think G1 Metroplex was massive? Scorponok? Or did the shadow of Fort Max always mean I thought there were bigger toys?

Why has no one asked what happened to Energon Omega's head? -Ralph Because many people know. I'm sure I've said here and I know you've seen on FB THAT Omega Supreme arrived in the big lot I bought off eBay to get the Cybertron Leader Metroplex axe. It is missing the usual suspects, Minicon head, missiles and one of the back doors. It pushed buttons and made me acquire a complete one (Both Cybertron Leader & Legacy Titan Metroplexes added plus a Cybertron Voyager Quickmix added to he previous lineup to further mess with @piniwg's head) Here's a close up of both the Omegas and the Metroplexes

Oh my, you can barely even see Cybertron Leader Metroplex there. I thought you'd comically hung something from the Titan's waist and had to zoom in to check.
