A lot of the free stuff is bog standard cheap toys they splash some TF related gubbins on- actually getting thousands of Transformers would be a killer for them.
Anyways, Animated? Pah! More like SHAMINATED if you ask me! Hasblow don't know jack about sh1t

I wonder when TF Inflatables will start cropping up. Other comics/mags have had a Bo Staff, a Hammer, a chain chomp and a Nunchaku - perhaps TF:A could do an inflatable Bulkhead wrecking ball or something.

The very second comment on Furman's Animated blog post is "That comic sucked. Stick to G1, you're not versatile enough to do Animated".
Bet he's really glad he started a public blog, eh?

What a twat.
Sure, I have bought comics from Furman and others that I did not enjoy and had a rant online, but it's generally polite to phrase comments in a constructive way if posting on a creators blog/board when you know such comments will be read!

I quite enjoyed reading the first issue The lead strip was simple, but manages to introduce Sideswi... Afterburn effectively. The back-up strip (screen captures of the Animated show) is surprisingly readable, though the orange background seems a waste of space when presented in super A4 page. It may simply be my childish sense of humour, but I'm also amused by the the Bits and Bobs strips in the first issue. I hope they introduce TFs that didn't make it in the future.
Annoyingly, the selotape that attaches the gift to this issue was too effective. The only way to remove the gift without ripping the mag was to cut around it using scissors.

Got my copy today and in the usual display of Dunfermline's WH Smith wankery they appear to have decided to stop stocking the main title.

Ah. That would piss me off immensely.
They've presumbly just ordered a 'Transformers Comic' then.
When I move into parents digs from December for who knows how long, I'll have to trek into Glasgow to get copies of Titan TF as they cannot be found locally. I would subscribe but Sparky the dog is trained to go get the mail so they would be destroyed by her tender mercies!

Only skimmed through the mag, though I read the main strip. Enjoyed it, nice to see John McCrea keeping a good balance between the animated style and his own style.

I thought the main strip was ok. The art was decent I felt - distinctive but in keeping with the aesthetic of Animated. Not too fussed with the rest of the comic to be honest - a screen-grab comic-strip of an episode from the series isn't really my thing, but I can see how that might well fly for the target audience. I think it is a decent enough stab at a comic aimed at its target age group.
I probably won't be picking up many future installments to be honest, simply on budgetary grounds, but I wish it well.

I quite enjoyed the main strip: it was much better than the 2 that were in the other Titan TF comic and was a bright and breezy read. Having an exclusive UK comic character is a clever draw: gives the comic a selling point to see who Afterburn is and how he mixes with the Autobot team. It was nice to see the strip is 11 pages like the Titan movieverse strip.
Hmmm, between the two titles, 11 pages of UK material a fortnight. Like in Ye Olden Days, almost!
I expected the screen grab material to turn up as its the only IDW Animated material they can print yet (its published as digests in the US): the other IDW stuff (the originated miniseries) hasn't finished its run yet and I imagine this was put together a few months ago anyway.
Besides, maybe screen grab stuff plays much better for kids than the likes of us.
The puzzles and the like were inoffensive: I had feared Armada UK quality.
Overall, I thought it was decent enough for me to pick up the second issue when it comes out. Whether I stay a regular reader depends how the main strip plays out.

Two Transformers comics instead of one. This is awesome. I guess we get a comic out each fortnight too, and I hope they don't eventually merge either.
As for that 'Jay' person, I would'nt be surprised if his true identity was that of a familiar spammer long gone from here.
Looking forward to issue 2. Not a big fan of this Afterburn feller though.

I hope they do merge to become an actual fortnightly! (Which they wouldn't, but it'd be awesome if they did!)
I wonder if we're meant to like Afterburn? He's deliberately presented as The Cool New Guy, but it is a bit over the top and is depressing Optimus so...

Perhaps Afterburn and Drift could swap places If a possible merge meant a possible fortnightly affair I'd be up for that. I guess Titan are making more $£$£ out of both comics being separate and Animated has to still prove its worth a bit more after more issues are out. ===KEN

'Jay' I think. If you mean the possible ex-spammer from here it does'nt matter now. Anyways. when's the next issue out again?

The pull out poster in the centre makes me think of the first CG2 issue. There's something quite McV esque about that Prime picture. Anyone agree?

My luck at picking up comics that I want has started again. This time I can't pick up a copy of this new UK Animated title. I saw two copies of it in WH Smiths in Leicester at the weekend but some clown(s) had ripped the free gift off both issues and I'm not buying anything that promises a free gift but doesn't have one.

Surprisingly, Animated #2 appeared on the shelves of FPL today. There are free tattoos and 2 badgers attached to the cover using the ultra sticky, non-removable tape. The cover art shows Grimlock and the dinobots, a sight unseen in UK newsagents for 14 years.

Got my issue today & the story looks ok - just need to read to see how the writer is going with the story, if keeping it in the cartoon style.
The story is ok - but i still feel something is up with this Afterburner. The way we had Shockwave turn up on the cartoon is making me think something could happen here.
The colourings nice but the artist doesn't seem to stick to the same exact drawing when he's doing Bumblebee. But the Dinobots look great.
