(1) There's some indication the Firecracker mold has been modified at some point: For all the G2 releases the piece in front of the neck holding the robot body and the car's front together is the same colour as the car's Lower Legs - C. When the CR/RID version is introduced this part becomes the same colour as the body of the car - A (2) Blowout's Car Body appears to be painted on his first two G2 releases. (3) Highbeam is pictured with the wrong gun on TFU.info - he's pictured with Gearhead's there. All the releases on eBay show the correct gun mold in the correct colour. |

What about those extra ones they did ie RID Prowl 2. You could tell they aren't by the same design team. Actually there were six new molds which were never released at the time (one was a jeep I believe) of which those new four were part of. No idea why the other two never got released, maybe that mold was damaged. Evidence of some gang moulding there too. |

It wouldn't take much to update the spychangers.
Don't get me wrong, it'd be more extensive than others, but it could be done fairly cheaply.
All spychangers follow the same TF scheme. This means all six can be done with the same base mold.
The torso, waist, arms (this is seperate from the door panels), thighs, shins, feet, and wheels can all be shared. And guns too, as far as I'm concerned.
The head, and all the car parts would be new (though I suspect that some car parts could be shared with similar cars)

Odd that they took the tampo from Soundwave and decided to reuse it.
Also never realised how differnet soundwave was. Does make the facial details stand out more though.
Im now trying to remember which versions of Megatron and Prime I wound up with.

I feel the completist in me urging me to get all the colours I don't already have. But then I'd also end up getting Nightracer and the unreleased G2 ones, and I can't afford that.

Toyfu got most of that set, we missed out on Jazz though. I was looking at some translucent Japanese ones but they sold for the best part of £70 each. |
