I feel the completist in me urging me to get all the colours I don't already have. But then I'd also end up getting Nightracer and the unreleased G2 ones, and I can't afford that. It sure is. They came in cases of 12, where 2 of them were clear versions. Spychangers is a pretty big hole to fall down. I have been contents with one set for years. But every so often the G2 Gobots call me G2 versions are nice, I have all of those, and the Car Robots giftset, and a couple of the Super versions. Just need to finish that set, including the clear ones, then get the JUSCO, KB and Universe recolours... Plus Nightracer, and unreleased G2, and any other ones I'm forgetting... Toyfu got most of that set, we missed out on Jazz though. I was looking at some translucent Japanese ones but they sold for the best part of £70 each. They might have been the JUSCO ones. Didn't realise they were that expensive! |

I feel the pull of the G2 Go-Bots as well... What do they go for nowadays, I might have a few lying about Not a lot. Prime and Megatron pull a little more, because of the characters, others are around £2-5 each depending on whether you have the guns. |

Okay so. The general accepted belief as to why we can't have spychanger updates is "it's too samey. It can't be done in a financially feasible way that does them justice."
And I grudgingly accepted that. Until now.
In Earthrise we are getting at least SIX seperate characters all with the exact same robot layout (car roof chest, front end becomes legs and feet), and all six come from three unique, unrelated brand new molds.
Meanwhile, the spychangers are half done already.
A minor retool of Siege Sideswipe gets you amazing REV and Crosswise.
A straight up repaint of Siege Mirage gets you Mirage.
Now, an all new Ironhide mold can be justified by also using it as either a G1 or Movie Ironhide, or Alternator Optimus.
And a new mold can be pretooled to work as both Hotshot and WARS. And I'm sure either tooling can be used as someone else to justify it's existence to G1 purists.
So... At this point we can knock out all six spychangers, with only two new molds. And they would be way less samey than Wheeljack/Sunstreaker/Runamuck/Runabout/Cliffjumper/Hubcap.
So... I WANT MY SPYCHANGER UPDATES HASBRO YOU SHOWED YOUR HAND THERE'S NO EXCUSES
