I'm sure it's not, but that just looks like a slightly better painted version of the mainline release...

It looks slightly different, but not much. Also similar amounts of unpainted gray. You'll need to blackwash it, same as the mainline release.

Is there a Studio Series Primal? I remain utterly confused by two ROTB toy lines running at the same time.

It's not two lines. It's it's own line, then Studio Series entries. Exactly like Bumblebee.

Ah yeah, could be. Which would be interesting, if they were still using that same silver plastic that they used in the original SS38, as opposed to the boring grey of this one. A shame.

Rhinox looks really good. Finally an instance of Studio being better than the mainline!

Well, he used to be a nice rhino-coloured chap who got to munch on daisies, and now he has had all his colour leached out as if he has been attacked by the MCU colour filter. You'd be a bit unhappy if you suddenely went gray-scale too I suspect. I know I would.

Wait - does this mean that this MP figure is going to cost the same as Kingdom Primal..?
|
|

Post by Toph on May 18, 2023 8:03:17 GMT
It's not an MP. It's just a normal Studio Series voyager. Specifically a repaint of RotB Optimus, which was a retool of Bumblebee Optimus

You sure you got the right Voyager? I think it is the SS-38 BB Optimus It is a bit of a bugger to tell the difference I'll admit! The hip panels look flatter, like SS38, and the missile boxes on the sides of the knees are same colour as the upper legs, like SS38, and not as the lower legs, like ROTB. He's also got the gun and not the sword. F*** I think I might want this

This week's Hasblowwww live stream stated that the SS ROTB Optimus Prime is a partial retool of a Bumblebee movie toy, but is mostly all-new.
