Heh I used to do that when I was a kid mainly with the Turbomasters and Predators Each room in the house became a different planet... the Decepticons had their base in a cupboard in the guest room, while the Autobots lived on my carpet Unicron was played by a giant Polish King's head carved out of wood Graham wrote: Do you wear the Rumble/Frenzy headphones as well?? Me: Sadly no I do not own them and they are so far down my list of "want to have" that I probably never will Besides - insofar as Soundwave is a great thing in robot mode, those two are...err...well... "it's the thought that counts!" would be the best I could say about them dyrl

If we ever traveled anywhere the bus/train was an alien transport ship. All Transformers had to be in vehicle mode when traveling so that no one knew they were Transformers. "Cybertron" was actually my grandparents' house in Inverness and "Nebulos" was my other grandparents' house in Lossiemouth. Sadly though, my Transformers only went to Cybertron once a year. Oh, and Shockprowl, 34?!?! Man that's o-old. (Not old for playing with your toys, but just, generally, old.)

Me: Big deal My girlfriend just turned 40 and she looks like she 25 I look like I'm 40, but just turned 30 and still remember when I was 14 everybody thought I was 20 Age is a crazy thing As to Graham's post - this does bring back fond memories Which makes me wonder - what were some of the most memorable "adventures" you had with the your Transformers as a child? I remember that when I was 11 and moved from the US to Poland, my small force of Transformers was "transported in space-time by the evil Unicron" to a strange and barren planet where nothing was certain and everything was unknown... The strange and barren planet did, however, become more and more comfortable as it turned out the Transformers like G1 Megatron, Overlord, the Motorvators and various Actionmasters could be bought in Poland - and they joined the fray which lightened things up Ultimately my stories got quite complex... I even remember actually BUILDING Autobot City out of the remains of a 'wall closet/shelf' contraption. My Autobot city's transformation was fairly simple: a ramp that opened and closed; and I taped paper with computers drawn on it all over the inner walls. The Decepticons had no such base and were always steaming mad about being effectively homeless. In retrospect; I think I understand their plight dyrl

Re playing with toys? I'm NEVER going to stop! Although by the time I'm 84 I'll have to get some kinda table 'cos I wont be able to get down to the carpet without breakin' a hip...

Speaking as someone who has achieved the same age, I don't feel it to be old - I'd say that Shockprowl and I are barely in line for our "midlife upgrade program". I reckon that we have plenty of time left in service. Besides, they do say that you are only as you feel - by which criteria I reckon Shockprowl is far younger than most of us. (and I mean that in the nicest possible way). Karl

I'm facing Carousel next year. I had a cabin bed when I was a child, which was great for playing Transformers. It was like a mountain. The bed on top would be the surface; the desk and its pigeonholes would be the Ark and different rooms, or caves; the space under the desk would be lower caves. The wardrobe and the shelves on the wall would be more mountaintops, whilst the floor would be a valley or sometimes water because the carpet was blue. The pigeonhole "caves" were great for hiding Decepticon spies.

I think the green for the cloak is perfect but I am going to need to dirty it up a bit. At the moment it looks like a modified tablecloth. I will scorch it in places and cut out some bits for an attept at authentic looking battle damage. ===KEN

Hey Ken - that Lockdown in cloak looks lovely! I take it he is supposed to be the "new" Deathshead? Or at least a distant cousin? I am about to open up my own Lockdown! Recently I lay in bed fiddling with Megatron, Bulkhead and Starscream - the former two I liked fiddling around with in both modes while the latter is likely going to stay in robot mode for a while... Anyone know WHY Starscream's arm panels open like they do? Just to look cool? Or what? The most recent serious play time was with my Beast Wars Neo and Masterpiece Skywarp, Megatron and Robotmaster Victory Saber all of whom are taking part in my new Beast Wars III photo comics! I must say it was a pleasure rediscovering the loveliness that is Apache's "Battle Mode" - a truly truly wonderful machine. dyrl

The play value of Animated Deluxe Prime has been improved a thousand fold now that I have discovered that Pretender Skullgrin can ride on the back in vehicle mode! Gasp as he raises his fists in triumph! But oh no! From the other end of the coffee table comes...Hasbro Re-issue Grapple!
Didn't see that one coming.

Spooky! The episode of Animated shown last week (the one with Blackarachnia) had some creatures in it that looked uncannily like Bomb-Burst and Submarauder!
I must learn of Hasbro Reissue Grapple's fate!!

Graham said: Spooky! The episode of Animated shown last week (the one with Blackarachnia) had some creatures in it that looked uncannily like Bomb-Burst and Submarauder! Me: Yes! Those appear in Meltdown first- they are Meltdown's creatures, and indeed they are based on the Pretenders! I hope Hasbro gives us toys of them! As for me - my last play time was a serious confrontation between Masterpiece Skywarp and BW Bolfang! It was mostly one of those dramatic "talk" moments - when both fellows expressed their point of view in very melodramatic terms - and then Skywarp walked off whilst Bolfang called Magmatron in on his position! (the backstory to this is another photocomic...) Also had a "dramatic talk" of sorts between Encore G1 Skylinx and BW Reborn Optimus Primal - though their talk was, naturally, less dramatic than the Decepticon/Predacon chat. No battles them...just lots of melodramatic dialogues for the moment Pete

I find it rather ironic that Grapple would be killed.
About two years ago, my reissue Grapple zoomed into action at the command of Rodimus Prime to help him, Kup, Ultra Magnus and a few others fight the crazed reissue Purple Galvatron, whose power was humongously huge due to his having his proper Movie colors...
Anyways - Grapple likes to say Galvatron shot his arm off.
The truth is far less heroic...
In fact - Grapple didn't get even midway through tranformation before his arm snapped off. The first and last (and God willing) ONLY casualty amongst my Transformers over the last 5 years now...
Grapple was promptly given away to charity and replaced by a loose reissue Grapple with stickers (while retaining broken Grapples non-used sticker sheet and MIB box! Beat that! I now have MISB Grapple with stickers stuck to him AND un-used sticker sheet! I'm sure he'll be worth a zillion dolars ....just as soon as the US dollar hits 1 zillion/1Euro:) )...
Anyways...poor old Grapple - seems to always be killed in the "carpet fights"

Oi! Grapple is awesome. He has better arm articulation than any other Transformer of his era AND held the title of Most Orange Transforming Toy until 2003 when the X-Dimension Destruction Team came out.
I have been fiddling with my new Animated figures a lot. It helps that I've cleaned up my desk and now actually have some options for where I stand/pose them.
