The Firm's Arthur Daley e's Alright was on one of last night's repeats. A quick YouTube search finds a performance of them doing the song and another on TV that year www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b7omRIx4jkAnd yes, m'learned colleagues confirm it is the same The Firm who did Star Treking!

The Arthur Daley E's Alright The Firm are the same outfit as the Star Trekking The Firm and thus aren't a one hit wonder.

I've finally reached 1982 in the repeats. I had no idea the 80s TOTP theme was a track off a Phil Lynott album. What the actual fup! That's mad!

Oh I do. I check iPlayer weekly for TotP to see if I need to download anything. Because they were on so frequently at one point we're well behind. January 1985 last night. In the time the Friday broadcasts have gone from 84 to 87 they've repeated 81-83 too so we did those too. But they haven't repeated the story of documentaries to go with them.

Poison Arrow is on Big Hits 1982 on Friday at 9pm www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07g9rc4The 18th Feb 1982 edition (repeated Monday night) is probably worth a listen for fans of Star Fleet. I reckon Paul Bliss must have been watching at the time of original broadcast as there's at least two tracks on their with similarities to bits of Star Fleet music: ABC's Poison Arrow has BIG similarities to the theme tune and Robert Palmer's Some Guys resembles a piece of incidental music. Six months before Star Fleet's broadcast would be about right for these tunes to be influencing the music.

Nope The Adam Ant performance is astonishing in terms of what in does in 3 and a bit members involving four different stages and numerous personnel. Amazing stuff.
And out of the entire package the worst song is merely good!

During tonight's TOTP chart rundown I had an "oooo, I think I know that moment" when they read out Scarlett Fantastic's No Memory. The band's name rang no bells but there was something about the title that did. I can't have heard it 30+ years but yes, I did recognise it!
