Things be looking up. Got tickets for Ian Mckellens one man show. And The Beach Boys hasn't actually sold out. Ticketmaster was just fucking up.
Planning further ahead, gonna try getting Elton John tickets next Friday.

1. Sumo Cyco - Skarlett Riot 2. Icon For Hire - Riot Child - 3. Skindred - CKY - Danko Jones 4. Garbage - Estrons 5. Within Temptation - Ego Kill Talent: Very very good, WT are a lot heavier than on record and the stage set and lights were amazing. A lot better than when I saw them at Download a couple years back, but no Xibit? For shame! 5. Ginger Wildheart - She Makes War - Billy Liar 6. Steel Panther - Inglorious - Wayward Sons 7. Download Festival 8. Nirdvana - Vertical Noise 9. Sunset Nebula - Magic Pillow Factory 10. Neverhall - The Mighty Wraith -Severn - Gunners Law

Great show. Really enjoyed that. Within Temptation may be playing smaller venues than they did on the Hydra tour, but they still have the presence of an arena band and packed an arena level show into a venue that didn't really deserve them. You're right about the stage, Urzu. That massive screen was unnervingly three dimensional at times. Really well used. Loved the new tracks too, their sound is changing again. Less opera and more metal. The synth on Supernova was great too. Looking forward to this new album.

1. Pitchshifter - Earthtone 9 - The Blueprint: New high point for gigs I've attended and not just this year. Loud, sweaty, moshy from start to finish. I'm going to miss Pitchshifter. 2. Sumo Cyco - Skarlett Riot 3. Icon For Hire - Riot Child - 4. Skindred - CKY - Danko Jones 5. Garbage - Estrons 6. Within Temptation - Ego Kill Talent 7. Ginger Wildheart - She Makes War - Billy Liar 8. Steel Panther - Inglorious - Wayward Sons 9. Download Festival 10. Nirdvana - Vertical Noise 11. Sunset Nebula - Magic Pillow Factory 12. Were they doing presales for Birmingham?
Edit: Obviously they were, or you are a Witch and must be burned. Is Birmingham an O2?

Jurassic Park in Concert - Culture. Nice. Also gave me a chance to check out Hulls new Venue. Weird design. Only as wide as the stage and just goes up and bac and up and back forever.
Looks like no Springsteen tour in 2019 (at least with the E Street band). Disappointing, but on the plus side the possibility of new music.

Ah cool. I've seen Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellen a couple of times, so I couldnt turn down the chance to add Wolverine to the list.
Next years already looking better than this. Jackman. Will try getting to Little Steven, will pick up Beach Boys ticket at some point. Got Jimmy Eat World sometime and I think theres something else.
And Elton John in 2020 to look forward to. Eneded up opting for Manchester because of the dates but would have loved to see him in Leeds.

I was happy with how cheap the tickets were. £35 is pretty decent these days.

nightwish and beast in black last night, odd setlist from nightwish but they were doing a decades tour, missed some utter classics out tho which I found odd,
Beast in black were sensational fantastic support and lead singer was superb!

I only saw Nightwish at Download a couple of years back. They were super underwhelming!
I only really like Dark Passion Play, anyways, and I don't think they still have the same singer, do they?

no Anette left and then Floor took over, I saw them with Tarja and they haven't been as good since, still £30 for an arena gig where Nightwish did 2 hours and support did just shy of an hour is fantastic this day an age (I cannot stress how good the support were - Very 80's synth heavy metal)
I think the problem with this tour for me was it was the celebration of decades so Floor was singing Tarja's song and after seeing her perform them it just wasn't the same!
- Also in a celebration of their career really surprised they didn't sing wishmaster - its one of their top songs.
Having said all that I really enjoyed it - just need ot clarify that as it seems I'm just bashing them lol!

I like Nightwish a lot and have seen them a couple of times but this time round I think the venue or the date didn't work for me. Floor's a good singer but the competition from the previous two makes them a hard act to follow.
80s synth metal sounds good. Must check that out.

Oh hey, that's fucking awesome!
Avoiding the obvious comparison to Europe, there's a hefty dose of Dragonforce in there. I like!

Disappointed to find the release of Resist pushed back to Feb. Two barnstorming singles released so far and I recall the other new tracks played live were good too.

This is a great track, though Anders Frieden is what really makes it for me. Speaking of, In Flames are playing London in April, think I might have to.

1. Pitchshifter - Earthtone 9 - The Blueprint 2. Sumo Cyco - Skarlett Riot 3. Icon For Hire - Riot Child - 4. Skindred - Sonic Boom Six - Skam: Skindred now become the first band I've seen into double figures, and boy, do they deserve it. The whole night was pretty high octane from start to finish. 5. Skindred - CKY - Danko Jones 6. Garbage - Estrons 7. Within Temptation - Ego Kill Talent 8. Ginger Wildheart - She Makes War - Billy Liar 9. Steel Panther - Inglorious - Wayward Sons 10. Download Festival 11. Nirdvana - Vertical Noise 12. Sunset Nebula - Magic Pillow Factory 13. Neverhall - The Mighty Wraith -Severn - Gunners Law
And I think that's me out for the year. Not too bad!
