I hadn't realised SW II had been so extensively re-edited for SW II UK and that stories had been skipped. Time to crack open that Omnibus...

Ongoing mission to reclaim UK 80's comics continues! Three Earth pounds have netted me the '89 and '91 Real Ghostbusters Annuals along with Collected Comics 1. On the way from ebay land.

Arrived today: Marvel UK tat: We have here Cyberspace 3000 #6, Death Wreck #1, Death 3 #4, Gun Runner #3, Death's Head II and the Origin of Die-Cut #1-2. By year's end, I will have a full run of 90's Marvel UK crap! This I swear!
Also, some strange thing from Marvel Comics Nelson called Illuminator #3 which looks like some strange 90's religious comic.

Illuminator may be the most terrible comic I have ever bought*. We're talking Dawn of the Dread Force levels here. Dark Minds still pips it to the title of Most Terrible Comic Ever though due to its' offensively bad lettering.
Though the Superman comic about the child murder comes close in terms of sheer awfulness!

Death's Head II and the Origin of Die-Cut #1-2. -Ralph Die Cut is a fantastically shit 90's style character. I see Silver Acre has his other two minis... -Ralph

I have been punished for buying bad comics. Having re-acquired Battle Tide the original mini I went on a quest for Battle Tide II once again as I am trying to build up a full collection of 90's Marvel UK for podcasting purposes. It had been many years since I last used Silver Acre due to some problems I had with them but they had Battle Tide II #1-4 in stock and I lusted after Geoff Senior art so ordered the comics from them.
Today I went to the sorting office to pick the issues up. Due to travel chaos this took a 3-hour round trip. Imagine my surprise when I got home, opened the package and saw it was missing #4, ie the last issue with a 'sorry out of stock' scrawled note within. An informative e-mail at time of order would have been most helpful.
I then promptly lost my mind, went straight on Ebay, and paid stupid money for #4.
Sigh.

I would not have minded had they just sent me a message when they checked their stock and were packing to say they didn't have it. Databases can sometimes ping the wrong number. I was, however, somewhat irked not to find out until I got the bloomin' package. Especially when I was trying to order a full series. And where is my refund?
Ah well, I'll just go back to using Ebay and charity shops for back issues.

I had the same thing happen with Silveracre a couple of months back when I ordered some Turtles comics. I've been filling in the gaps in my collection and I ordered a bunch of Vol. 3 from them. When they arrived there was a note saying they didn't have #10
The annoying thing was I'd seen one on eBay (for cheap) and not bothered because I knew I had one on the way. I've had bad luck with that issue though: I then ordered it from another place then after I long wait (and another non-purchase of it from another site) I contacted them and they said oops we haven't got it. After a while it turned up somewhere else, I ordered it (another site...not ordered..etc) then when it turned up it was the wrong comic.
I've located another copy and I'm assured it is the comic I'm looking for and it's on its way to me now (as well as a couple of others on my need list). I'm just going to assume something will go wrong and then maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Volume 1 of Knights of Pendragon is still fantastic stuff and actually reads better now than then. Way ahead of its time in multiple ways.
Volume 2 is FUCKING AWFUL. 6 issue in it reboots and gets even worse! I had only read some of it back in the day. Now I have read it all. It's suffers from SPACE:1999 SEASON 2 SYNDROME ie many of the creators stay the same but seem to have had brain transplants.

Now imagine what it is like to read both volumes back to back. I am a hero.
Volume 2 in this context made me start drinking. Volume 1 I had a ginger beer and a hot chocolate.

I thought it was ok back in the day though a lot of it went way over my head.
Next in the back issue pile: the eight published issues of the Marvel UK Sf comic CYBERSPACE 3000 by Gary 'Divided Loyalties' Russell.

I loved KOP back in the day once I got over the disappointment of Cap not being drawn by Alan Davis.

In an ideal word, Cap Britain would only be drawn by Alan Davis. In a similar vein, Adam Warlock and Thanos should only be written by Cosmic Jim.
