Oh is it still called Cyber Battalion then? I thought that had become Authentics.
Oh lord. Too complicated.

Don't forget the upcoming Bumblebee line to be added to that list.
And once in a blue moon, Takara's Legends is still kicking, if they want to do a deco Hasbro hasn't. I count it as I consider Masterpiece to just be a takara line.
But geeze. Hasbro used to work so hard to make sure every line was easily recognizable. But now not only are the toy designs all nearly identical, the names themselves are, too.

Aha! A Prime with a trailer. This means I can pass on Giant Nipple Tassle Prime. So I shall. Also I'll hold off on getting the Warrior class Shockwave, 'cos that larger one looks much better. And the see- strike planes will be available in the Legends/Scout/Whatever class - this means I'll be trying to collect them all. Good good good.

I found Cyberverse today. The line looks both better and worse in person, than in pictures, if that makes sense? It's also way more confusing than previous lines. The packaging for each kind of toy all plends together. I wasn't sure if the Warriors were warriors, or the gimmick line with the half transformations. I wasn't sure about a lot of what I was looking at, because like... every subline in this focuses on the exact same six or seven characters, in the exact same generic designs.
Optimus, Starscream, and Bumbles look better in hand, Shockwave's weird sculpting choices don't. And all the promo images I saw, I never realized Warrior Optimus doesn't have a left hand!

Hasbro clearly has an anti-lefty agenda.

I'm actually really liking the look of those little jets. The nuRiD Legends Windblade was... disappointing, to say the least, but this one looks like it might be good. Yes, the ger-walk mode is silly, but seems to at least give her a slightly different transformation. And Slipstream just looks good.
Ultra Shockwave continues to look great. Again, I'm glad we saw some pictures of him before the Smyths sale was over, else I would've been tempted to pick up the disappointingly un-articulated Warrior class version. But no, I am now waiting for the Ultra, because it looks ridiculous and fun.

WHAT.
Asdaland round here has not had any TF's for a few months. Are these Cyberverse the one-step changers or the Warriors??? Your life depends on the answer!!! The first option would enrage! The second would bring joy!
DON'T WAIT FOR THE TRANSLATION! ANSWER ME NOW!

It does seem to be a particularly insane strategy. Maybe they just sell better in places that aren't the UK..?

Step changers *have* to be selling, or else Hasbro wouldn't continue to just throw money into them year after year.
But that sure doesn't appear to be the case. I've never seen them not shelfwarm. And everyone I've ever encountered finds this to be the case. And people with young kids all seem to say their kids hate them.
I swear, step changers are the biggest enigma in the franchise.

My son saw an ad for Cyberverse toys yesterday so I've ordered him Ultimate Megatron from Amazon for £21.87, which I thought was an acceptable price for a new toy like this. It's also the first G1 styled Megatron we've owned between us so I'm pretty happy. Looks like a chunky toy suitable for a lad to bash around!

That Megatron feels a bit Action Mastery in the robot design.

That last image of Optimus... Is that a legitimate transform mode?!
I'd have an Acid Storm if it wasn't just a huge lump of green plastic.

That last image of Optimus... Is that a legitimate transform mode?! Yes it is. That is the gimmick for the Scout class: the alt modes for them are designed to look like the robot is in mid-transformation. They look so shit. I must have them all. -Ralph
