I have always been with you on this, but then someone pointed out that Doublecrossers silhouette looked like a Taco on legs. I'm a simple man and thats enough to justify silhouettes.. for now. |

Siege Red Alert has annoyed me since day 1  Too much black, my head says, so much so that I've been considering getting a second Red Alert & a second Alphastrike clone, popping the pins and swapping the red and black bits (@bluestreak Bogatan - possible?) But then I looked at previous Red Alert toys tfwiki.net/wiki/Red_Alert_(G1)/toysAnd even the ones with red heads have black hands & shins And checking tfwiki.net/wiki/Red_Alert_(G1) it seems the Siege version is accurate to most of his media appearances. So why do I think the shins and hands should be red? Is it because I know they're on the same sprue as the head on the G1 toy? Looking back at the Siege the only things that are wrong are the gun - should be red. And oddly the upper legs, which are red on the original Red Alert toy and white on Siege, hadn't disturbed me till now!!!! |

Maybe if the new series/new movie/whatever it is that Universal are trying to get going this week actually makes it into production they might team up and do a redeco, a la Top Gun. But probably not.

Odd deco choices - I mean, why does Acid Storm have a blue nose? The originals were more uniform. I can understand wanting to break up the plain colour - the red flashes on the wings are nice - but the noses are weird. I can't see anything in Divide and Conquer that suggests its reproducing an animation colour error.  |

My guess is the same reason Soundblaster got significant changes. To tell these releases apart from the store exclusives.
Target probably had some kind of contract saying that these decoes can't be distributed any other way except through them.

That makes sense but Takara could have done a better job. Losing the battle damage would have been a big draw. Nova Storm just seems to have a slightly different grey on the nose.
