Sledge is mistransformed in his catalogue appearance. Don't hold it against him.

All these last few weeks I've thought, "Exactly how many Micromasters were there?!"
It's starting to make me giddy!
Some dodgy names in there, but I haven't noticed it being too bad.
Battle Patrol looks the best to me here.

Easy one this week. Battle Squad.

Both squads have teamwork and co-operation 7 and courage 9. Constructor Squad are stronger, tougher and more skilful. Battle Squad are faster and more intelligent. Martin

Direct-Hit/Power-Punch - "Strike hard and fear no one!" Fireshot/Vanquish - "It's my duty to know the unknown!" Half-Track/Meltdown - "Ramming speed is the only way to travel!"
Excavator/Stonecruncher - "The bigger the Autobot scrap heap, the greater our success!" Grit/Knockout - "Only our Decepticon victory is carved in stone!" Hammer/Sledge - "Dumping a world of hurt on the Autobots is our only purpose in life!"
In the Grand Moff Martinverse, the Battle Squad go on to become the Predators.

Both teams are actually pretty disappointing, since both have two combined vehicle modes that are pretty similar. Given that, the Battle Squad wins just because of the nifty black jet.

RAMMING SPEED IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRAVEL. Perhaps today _is_ a good day to die! Edit: I guess ramming speed isn't such a big deal for the Micromaster who forms the back half. Martin

That TV advert features Action Master Megatron - and he seems to have his Ladybird voice!

The Constructor Squad is later repainted as the Combiner Transport Micromasters I'm guessing they felt they had to go with that squad rather than Astro, Battle or Metro because it's the only one made up entirely of wheeled land vehicles, to attach to the front and back of the rolling transports? The mix'n'match gimmick is bugging me.
It was fine for the Multiforce, as any two vehicles could combine to make a sensible robot.
And it _almost_ works for these guys... if it weren't for the space shuttle, hovercraft and stealth jet.
Just three of the twelve vehicles (fifteen if you count the recoloured Constructor Squad members) make the mix'n'match unworkable. All the rest are fine. Front half of one road vehicle plus back half of another road vehicle makes a new kind of road vehicle. Great!
Did the folk who made the decision to include the shuttle, hovercraft and jet not know that you were supposed to be able to interchange them? Or did they just not care?
Discuss.

I didn't mind the combinations not always working (front of a spaceshuttle/back of a dump truck - brilliant!!) but the fact that some of these poor souls couldn't funtion on their own (front of a space shutttle) made me sad.

Yes, at least the Multiforce could form both robots and vehicles on their own.

Transformers physics. And what's better than replacing the back of a space shuttle with a big bin to keep stuff in as you zoom around the galaxy?

The Missile Launcher has strength 10! The Cannon Transport has intelligence 10! Um, what? How's that reflected in the text blurb? The Cannon Transport has speed 9! Cannon Transport and Tanker Truck have endurance 9! Missile Launcher has rank 9! Tanker Truck has courage 10! Cannon Transport and Missile Launcher have firepower 9! None of them have skill above 7. How disappointing. I don't think much thought is going into the tech-spec ratings by this stage... Martin

Cannon Transport (as the Decepticons were always better in this time). For such a simple toy, I remember having so much fun with this. So many different modes. Really was two toys in one - two Micromaster chatacters plus a vehicle for each of them.

Ridiculous Techspecs there. Yes, no thought went into them at all, which diminishes the very Soul of Transformers!
Fun looking toys though, actually. And I think Canon is the best looking.
But...
'Gusher'..? Really?

Purely from the catalogue pictures, it'll have to be the Missile Transport for me - the colours are just so much more vibrant.
