Was: The Great Catalogue Sub-Group Poll I may think of a better title later...... Welcome to "the new thing"! Each week we will look at a catalogue, and you can see them at botchthecrab.com/gallery.asp?gallery=10, pick a sub group and vote for which member is best. The poll runs for one week after which the poll in the first post will be removed, it's results immortalised in a post, and replaced by a new poll. Try to vote by Thursday midnight as the new poll will usually go up first thing Friday morning. Yes, it's a bit like certain elements of Top 5 Toys. But this places your one vote in competition with everyone else's! The catalogues will act as a guide as to what constitutes a sub group. We will try to avoid voting for the same toy twice, so 1984 cars won't reappear in a 1985 poll, but to compensate we'll probably do an extra poll looking at the larger multi year subgroups after they finish with all their members in it. Well, despite the fact that Bumblebee is my favourite, I'm actually going to have to vote for Huffer. Partly because those colours work so well in that shot, and partly because he was the first minibot I got to play with in hand (at a friend's house, of course) which was had some impact on my hind-brain...

I'm voting for Brawn! He was my first, but he looks so alien and weird, with his vizor head and grabber arms.

AArgh! Huffer or Bumblebee!!  As much as I am a Huffer fan, I am also a Bumblebee (as in VW bug) fan and his original toy is still so iconic both in the transformation and the deformed squashed up car look. It was the first Transformer toy I wanted even before the comics and cartoons gave him the status he has. Mainly because I liked the car (even though I was convinced it was a form of Mini) when I was young and it was a car you'd see on the roads. But Huffer has that great alien robot mode with hood and strange arms... Dilemma time... What will be next? A choice between Jazz or Kup!? Misfire & Darkwing!? |

I like this idea because it neither requires lots of research nor actual thinking. Pinwig will not get irrevocably stuck at week 72 again!
As for this poll, yellow Cliffjumper was my first minibot and I still own the floppy little fella, but in a SaHOCKING TWUST I must betray him, for of this crew I find my heart belongs to number two... Windcharger. Nifty car mode, and Raiders cemented him as THE minibot to beat.
