Per last week, I'll vote on which one looks best and most exciting from the picture (which is why I didn't vote 'Bee last week - who is my favourite G1 minibot). Except... that is indeed not so easy. They all look bloody gorgeous, and tingle the nostalgasm spot nicely.
Now... I'd say... that of the picture, Ravage and Laserbeak stand out the most. Ravage for his uniqueness, Laserbeak for his colour scheme. But I was lucky enough to own a Laserbeak and Frenzy, so Ravage was more of a draw to me. So it'll have to be...
Ravage. Who was always my favourite cassette. Not just because of his uniqueness, but because of The Enemy Within and Raiders of the Last Ark. Furman struck hard, and he struck fast...

I voted for Rumble (despite never owning one) as I always liked the design and the character.
Also, his colour scheme is the one that pops off that catalogue page the most.
Vote Rumble.
This has been a post on behalf of the Campaign that states Rumble is the best, vote for him and don't waste your votes on anyone else party.

If you're voting on picture or actual toy, that's up to you! But is it on the toy, or other associations/connotations - like Brawn was criticised for not being able to lift above his head, yet he could do that in Enemy Within. I think my vote would be different if this was purely about the toy, and not the character.

Whatever you want!
However since this is the toys forum, I'd say the toy probably ought to be featuring strongly!

And yet the fiction affects how we feel about the toys. It's almost like that's exactly what they intended... ;-)

Wow, this is hard then. My instinct says Ravage because back in the day, Ravage was THE cassette for me. But in recent years I've become quite fond of the elegance of the condors, and I also really like Frumble in the cartoon.
I may actually have to get the ones I have out and play with them.

For us in the UK, this is it for the tapes. Sold in 1984 & 1985, then gone.
In the US tapes were available through 1988 with one of the 1984 tapes Frenzy becoming the Transformer who was available for the longest period of time, surviving till the end of 1987 thanks to being repackaged in 1986 with Ratbat, which I always thought was quite hard on Laserbeak!

I am torn. I want to say Ravage because of his One Pose but also Laserbeak because of LASERBEAK'S FURY. YES! The front cover to that book is one of my favourite pieces of Transformers art! On the other hand, Buzzsaw is an Unstoppable Killing Machine in the comics. How to choose?!?

Buzzsaw. Has to be one of the birds, and going purely on the toys I like the yellow better.

I don't remember ever having any of the original tapedecks or cassettes.
Laserbeak has always been my favourite of the cassettes in terms of toy and character though.

So hard not to vote for Ravage. I love them all! But I've decided to go LASERBEAK. He became such an integral part of Soundwave and the Decepticons, looks great, and is a great character.

I don't know how it happened, because the colours are there in the comics, but I spent *so* long thinking Laserbeak was the yellow one that my head still can't accept it's the other way round.

In the end, after much deliberation, I've had to go for Rumble. The red pops.
I was torn between him, Frenzy and Buzzsaw. I just like Buzzsaw, and Frenzy's blues are nice and classy. But yeah, Rumble pops off the page.

Ravage, without hesitation.
Such a fun toy, a really nice design. I genuinely like the character too - both the Marvel and IDW versions have a fascinating mix of loyalty and determination that make them quite fascinating in their respective versions of Transformers.

Ah. Just hit a small problem. There's a couple of catalogues missing from Botch that I don't have either! So a request: Anyone got, or can point me at, decent sized scans of UK 1987, UK 1988 and UK 1989? I have the last one but it's in 2 bits per side and has rather visible fold lines one it. I have also spotted a small mistake I made setting the poll last Friday that nobody else has commented on ..... I had a look in my catalogue pile Phil, I don't have a UK 1988, and I don't remember ever seeing one. Definitely had a couple of the larger boxed toys in my youth, but no catalogue.

Never seen that before. I asked Maz and his PMOP, Joyride and Getaway all had 1987 catalogues.
Will have to check my Pretender Beast boxes when I find them.

I always find it fascinating looking at the catalogues. I've never lost that sense of anticipation and desire that looking at the groups of toys organised like that brings. That thought that, ooh, if I had those three I'd have ALL the 1988 targetmasters, or if I had those two I'd have the leader figures. The organisation of the groups is just as exciting as the toys themselves, and the catalogues are the pinnacle of that. That's the collecting bug. One is never enough, it's about the sets.

Not for 87-89. The best images of 89 are mine and I had to scan it in two bits.
The only 87 I have is also in 2 bits and watermarked with the site I found it on.
G's image above is the first pic of 88 I've been able to find full stop.
So yes, hi res scans of all 3 appreciated!
