There was a last minute alteration to the poll options here.
Not to please Burns, but to solve a problem I had later on

Phil's own links to TFWIKI damns him:
"The toy came in unique monochrome-blue window box packaging featuring CGI artwork of Starscream. It was also only available sold as a set with the "Black Version" Starscream below, shipping out in December."
ONLY AVAILABLE SOLD AS A SET. ILLEGAL POLL.

They're in separate boxes so, as we established with Hot Rod, they're good.

We did not establish that with Hot Rod. We had a debate without a clear resolution.
If items are only sold as a set...then the clear intent is that they are only meant to be sold...as a set. Whether items are individually packaged is irrelevant. Also bear in mind those were aimed at a collector market, many of which like to display items as MIB or MISB. Having individual boxes could therefore be a selling point.

We did to my satisfaction. I am happy that they are individual toys and will continue to treat the paired releases through eHobby as such. This will make things considerably easier down the line.
Besides: my poll, my rules.
And, as I said with Hot Rod, you didn't raise an eyebrow a few weeks back when we voted on two toys in the same box

i love both those starscreams but really only one is actually starscream. black starscream is no more starscream than thundercracker is starscream. i would love to have either one though. ghost starscream i think is nicer because its a thing that we know about, whereas black starscream is just another characterless seeker to go with the other nine (or however many there are now).
note that i am not saying that all the other seekers are characterless, only that some of them are.

Meet Machine Wars Starscream, who Black Starscream's colours are based on tfwiki.net/wiki/Starscream_(MW)#Machine_WarsPrior to that there's at least 3 unreleased G2 Starscreams which are black

Don't really care for see-through toys, so Black easily gets this vote. Also, this Black recolour really stood out thanks to the grey robot head which finally made the face visible [much like the recent Retro recolours with painted faces].

The head doesn't help Black Starscream. It's very very small.

Both are interesting colour schemes, but translucent wins for me because it always does. Love me a good, backlit and super glowy robot...

Of this set I would say that the Black and gold version is the one I prefer.
The clear colour version is just a version of the same Starscream colours only translucent which, I suppose could be a repurposed as some sort of "invisibility" powered twin of Starscream. But the Black and gold is sufficiently different that it could stand alongside the original three as a new Decepticon Jet character. Which gives it the edge over just being another 1984 Starscream.

He's flawed, but there's something I find oddly appealing about black-and-gold Starscream. He looks like a prototype, or some obscure pre-Transformer or other kind of niche rarity from the early days. There's a 70s vibe to him.
