I like this idea because it neither requires lots of research nor actual thinking. Except on my part! But I'm guessing from the reaction and the number of votes that you're all liking this idea? Loving it, Big Phil! Great idea. And the catalogue pics, oh mamma, so nostalgic. I used to spend hours studying the ones I had. Really takes me back to those magical days.

I have a lot of affection for them all, but...
Not Cliffjumper because he's the wrong colour for the character in the stories.
Not Brawn because his arms are too tiny for someone who's supposed to be really strong. How can he do anything with those arms?
Not Gears or Huffer either because I'm not a big fan of the chunky plastic wheels.
Windcharger's a favourite character of mine, but the toy is a bit too one-dimensional in robot mode. Looks bad from side-on.
It would be Cliffjumper if he were red, but as it is I'm going Bumblebee. Good representation of the character as he appeared in the early comics, good scale relative to other larger Autobots, plus... rubber tyres. Rolls much better than the ones without.

I would never betray Windcharger the character, I am just commenting on the toys. More importantly, MARTIN DISSED THE GRABBER ARMS!!!!! NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! But they can't reach far enough to grab anything! Huffer could hold him at bay with one arm and Brawn wouldn't be able to touch him because his arms are so tiny. Brawn - great hands, rubbish arms connecting hands to body. But one point worth mentioning in Brawn's favour - he can sit on Prime's combat deck missile launcher (with the cockpit open). Martin

Brawn is a fabulous toy. Martin is deranged. How quickly he forgets how strong his grabber arms were in Marvel UK!

How quickly he forgets how strong his grabber arms were in Marvel UK! I do not dispute the greatness of the comic character based on the toy, but I'm trying to be very disciplined with my vote here and judge the toy alone. Unlike his comic depiction, toy Brawn raises his arms and they don't reach the level of the top of his head! If he wants to carry stuff overhead he has to carry it with his head because his arms are so short. But how does he get the stuff onto his head? With his feet? Martin

Shouldn't someone who's supposed to be the strong guy of the team be able to lift barbells over his head? Who is the one Mini Autobot whose arms are not proportioned to enable him to lift barbells over his head?
Correct. Outback.
Oh, and Brawn.
He'd try, and smack himself in the face while Bumblebee laughs at him whilst lifting stuff over his head all day long. OK, not very heavy stuff 'cos he's Bumblebee, but still he could lift stuff.
And Brawn's function is demolitions. How is he supposed to demolish stuff with no arms? By kicking it to bits, I guess.
"He can lift up to 190,000 lbs. and knock down a small building with one punch."
Not toy Brawn. He'd have to take teeny tiny steps to get close enough to reach the building or he'd have already kicked it down before he got anywhere near punching range.
Beachcomber - now those look like strong arms. Tempted to go to the mad theory thread to claim that Beachcomber is actually Brawn.

I agree with Martin. Being super strong is no help when you have tiny little T-Rex arms

Why is lifting things over his head a prerequisite? Brawn's arms are like the shovel on a digger - push in and raise. His strength is in the leverage, the pressure he can exert. Besides, if you're going to limit this entirely to the toy form then most of the Autobot cars are entirely ineffective because they'd fall over every time they tried to walk.

I am voting for yellow cliffjumper Yeah, so am I. I like Cliffjumper as a character - the overeager, leap-before-he-looks guy who causes as many problems as he solves is a great archetype. And as for the yellow cliffjumper, my original Cliffjumper _is_ yellow - and he was the only Cliffjumper toy I saw for several months after release - long enough for that to sink into my head as "that is what he looks like". So for me he _is_ yellow, and the comic and cartoon colour choices are variants. (My runner-up for my vote was Bumblebee - smallest, weakest, tries hard, friendly and curious...yet has a distinctly unhuman visage. Nice contrast) Karl

BRAWN JUST HEADBUTS STUFF!!!!! Yep, I'll buy that, toy Brawn can smash stuff by doing running or standing headbutts, or by kicking, or by driving into it. But he can't punch 'cos he has tiny arms with no reach. Very much like Grimlock in dinosaur mode, except Grimlock can transform into a robot with massive arms. Wow, Windcharger is winning without my vote - excellent! Martin

What Brawn lacks in arms he makes up for in legs.
And why else would he have that big flat platform over his 'head' if not to carry things?
Can't believe Martin of all people is demanding alien robots be judged by human body standards. Tsk. Shocked. I am shocked.
