The circles on Take Off’s midriff are turbines, Phil. They spin, not light up. Nope, giant halogen lights, hence the eye searing colour

Phil, those are blades, not whatever is in halogen lamps. They're slanted and connected to the central nub, for to spin! Not concave like a lamp!

They are energon extractor guns. It's on his power plans and official. Ignore the Mad Theories of fans and headlights!

This is space plane. Also: not a lot of realistic looking alt-modes at this point of TF! It's the mad era.
Please explain how turbines can be giant lights.

I guess Take Off's energon extractor guns do look a lot like the bit on Siege Reflectors belly. And he has a powerful flash....

Not through the lens!
Maybe the turbine spins and sucks the energon out of his opponents that way?

A function not matching what the Action Master used to transform into is irrelevant. Take-Off's function may once have been Road Warrior, but it's Aerial Reconnaisance now because, as his tech-specs clearly state, he combines with Screech to form "a devastatingly superior flight machine with infra-red detection capabilities". As for his name, maybe he changed it, or maybe when he turned into a car he also had a flight or turbo-boost capability of some kind. Got to give my vote to Charger. He's the only Action Master in this wave who actually looks good with his hat on. Bombshell looks like he's having his brain sucked out by a parasitic alien. Martin

Bombshell looks like he's having his brain sucked out by a parasitic alien. Which is why he gets my vote. Okay, that and the combination of purple and green - it's not just nostalgia, to my mind he genuinely looks better than the other two. That's all.

Nucleon has increased Bombshell's strength, speed, firepower and skill by one or two points each. He remains at intelligence 8, endurance 5, rank 6 and courage 5.
I don't like Take-Off's tech-specs ratings. He has silly strength 10.

No, Martin. No. Looks nothing like Slag. Charger is the best though. Nope. Great shared colour scheme between him and companion and best combined mode. Armed to the teeth. Two hand guns plus a Gatling gun in his guts. He has character.

I came across the Slag/Charger similarity when I was doing the tech spec table. Charger's data is obviously derived from Slag's, and as tfwiki points out - the reference in Charger's bio to harnessing energy from a crashed meteor is oddly specific and probably referring to War of the Dinobots, but I don't think that means Charger is supposed to be Slag. I think that just means whoever was writing the bios that day was feeling lazy and nicked it.

My brother got bombshel on the day I got.... Powerflash or Sideswipe. Thats gonna bug me.
He is too lanky, but I like the new proportions enough that I dont care.
I do like that Take Offs apparent method of flying around is to be grabbed by his head by a robot birdy, leaving his body swinging in the wind.

How lazy have you got to be to copy the function and motto and first line of the tech-specs, then write entirely new text after that, then use the same numbers, just changing one value by one point??? The numbers and functions do not take effort to do differently! Martin

The G2 Dinobots were recoloured versions of Grimlock, Snarl and Slag. They did Action Masters of Grimlock, Snarl and... hmmm.
Even if Charger isn't the intended figure to be Slag (the rounded 'wheels' on Take-Off's limbs make him a more likely candidate), you can't deny the hints that Slag was the next Dinobot in line for consideration to be released as an Action Master.

Martin conveniently forgets the set of Dinobots out at that time Though yeah it is obviously Slag's tech specs half inched as TFWiki makes clear tfwiki.net/wiki/Charger#Notes

Martin I'd say theres at least a possibility of something like this going on. Thundercracker might have gotten a new colour scheme while keeping his old identity, but the Elite Action Masters are all to varying degrees based on old characters and they got renamed at some point. You could make a pretty good AM Slag using Take Offs - head, arms and upper legs. Chargers lower legs Bombshells torso
