ALL of the Aquaspeeder & Stormtrooper names are puns.... Not really. To be a pun there must be a double meaning. Names like Deluge, Drench and Aquafend contain water references, but they are single-meaning descriptive of their water powers, not puns. Drench just means soak with water. It has no second meaning, and so is not a pun. Just an appropriate name for a guy with a water pistol. Martin

Indeed. If he were called Judi Drench then it might work. Pun names for the Aquaspeeders could be Respondor, Waterguy, Currenthreat, Floodthirsty and Coldspray.

And their headsuarters would have to be CASTLE SPRAYSKULL!
or the Ark I guess.
Actually, that should be headquWATERs.
And the stupid member no one likes could be call Dripshit.
And all members would be experts in auquabatics.

I have not betrayed Phil. Not until you take his Grand Galvatron. And even then it won't be a betrayal, because it's fully expected.

Tangential to the rainstorm pun discussion, the story title "Snow Fun" was of course a pun, as it sounds like "'S no fun", short for "It's no fun". Whereas if they'd called it "Fun in the snow", it would not have been a pun.
Then we should have had "Mist again", a story about Misfire missing his target through no fault of his own this time, because it was a foggy day.
And then "All Hail Megatron", in which the Decepticon Leader gets caught in a hailstorm.
Back to this week's poll, they missed a trick, as they should have been called Watermasters. (A twist on quartermasters.)

I wish the comic was still going when these toys were out so it could introduce them to the story. How I'd have laughed as they were nervously sent into the war zone armed with only water pistols, squirt their enemy and then promptly get their heads blasted off by the Decepticons for the minor inconvenience of getting a bit wet.

Good for killing Scraplets though.
Ironhide and Inferno had it better. They also had water guns - but they also had rocket launchers.

Hotspot, however, had fireball cannons. And he had fireball stickers on his side and was the wrong colour for a fire engine. He wasn't even trying to pretend to be a firefighter.

Finishes TOMORROW!
At that point we'll be done with the US 1993 G2 range. Thus far we've not seen anything particularly mad. That will change tomorrow as the Brits get G2 and show the yanks how mad recolours are done properly!

It's 1994! The UK gets G2 and Hasbro puts out a HUGE poster to celebrate! The poster shows a representative of each of the sub groups/assortments sold in the UK that year. What the UK got is the 93 UK new toys, the 93 US G2 toys (minus the Minibots and the Constructicons) and the new US 94 G2 toys (minus the two combining teams. Hmmm, do you ever think that SOMEONE in Hasbro UK/Europe *REALLY* didn't like combiners? The Constructicons are perhaps an understandable absence following the Chinese and yellow G1 versions but the others? Hasbro UK arrange the import of US carded 93 Minibots and one of the 94 combiner teams to Woolworths so it make me think the decision was a European one. This leaves Hasbro with a hole at the smaller end of the market so they cook up their own repaints of carded toys.... Week 158: What is the best G2 Autobot Sparkabot in 1994?Two of the G1 Sparkabots get a repaint: Blaze (formerly Fizzle, top right) Sizzle (bottom left) What did Guzzle do to deserve being left out?

I did say! At that point we'll be done with the US 1993 G2 range. Thus far we've not seen anything particularly mad. That will change tomorrow as the Brits get G2 and show the yanks how mad recolours are done properly! G2 Juice in it's purest form here. I have both of these, parts lot acquisiions: Sizzle is missing his bonnet, Blaze has a damaged hinge on his. This is a difficult one: when it comes to original Sparkabots I'd automatically go Guzzle. This will need some thought!

It's 1994! The UK gets G2 and Hasbro puts out a HUGE poster to celebrate! To the best of my knowledge this poster is the only bit of promotional literature issued by Hasbro UK for the G2 toy range. I've never seen a more extensive catalogue. At best it's representative but there are some interesting "features" on it... So my main image showing all the Sparkabots comes from elsewhere. Finding 94 toyfair catlogues has been a complete pig. I have THREE from the US version and two of them aren't great. Fortunately the good one covers something I didn't have ANY other official Hasbro reference photos of! The photo of the Sparkabots used this week is from the 1995 UK Toyfair catalog, which features a large portion of the 1994 new to UK toys. I sourced that from obscuretf.com/hhk/UKTF1995.html

I loved how Optimus Prime and Megatron are right next to each other on the poster yet still can't hit each other with their weapons.
