Both of the Thrusts are...fine.. except I am not fond of the underlying toy they are redeocs of, which kind of eliminates them to begin with.
Really it is down to the neon-green Grafitti-paint copter, or the...Martian Polar-cap camouflage(?)...version of Demolishor... Both of them have their amusing elements, but I am having trouble deciding between them.

Toy-Fu had one last year. It didn't sell so I bought it. -Ralph Yeah. I knew about that one because it came up on the call. I just wasn't there to buy it.

I'm going with Nemesis Prime. Even if Nemeses Prime have become a very boring and predictable thing since then, this one stands out by being the excellent Armada design and through the use of the tan plastic. I think he may be the only NP I own.
He's also the only one I own of this whole selection, most of which I find a bit uninspiring. Demolishor looks ok.

Finishes tomorrow.
Much smaller field this coming week as we go to a larger size but that's partially due to making a distinction that wasn't there for the Supercon reuses that stretches the Maxcons over two weeks.... but it's NOT by faction

The Demolishor just doesn't work for me and not just because it's not the colours it could have been. He's bottom of the pile
Like Karl I don't like the Thrust mold. The Dirge colours are a bit meh on it, especially the overabundance of brown. The Red Thrust is much much better so of course was much much harder to get. But having done three it's a shame they didn't complete the set with the Ramjet colours
The Hot Shot colours are top notch, shame about the mould
Cyclonus is fab, top o the list for the same character repaints
But Nemesis Prime is out on top, nice colours, fab joke with the Minicon name.

Ironically the red is actually my least favourite scheme on Thrust. I think it is too "heavy" and flattens the look of the mold and makes it lose a lot of what visual interest that it does have.
In the end I'm going with Cyclonus. No, not because he is a helicopter, although I do like helicopter's. Not because he is an early model Hind reference, although the uncompromising Vogonesque brickness has a certain aesthetic to it.
No, it is because it has gloriously bright, neon, play-school toy colours. It screams "I AM TOY! PLAY WITH TOY" and virtually demands one pick it up and make wokka-noises in the back of one's mouth whilst spinning the rotors.
It's toyetic, bright and appealling and overall just looks fun!

Repaints: Powerlinx Red Alert is a repaint of Red Alert who is also used in an Energon exclusive as Prowl and as a Movie Inferno As is traditional Thundercracker is a repaint of Starscream. In Japan he's known as Starscream Super Mode. He's also repainted in his character's Energon toy colours in a VS Pack with the aforementioned Prowl He's remoulded as Skywarp, who we'll see next week, who's then repainted as Universe Ramjet

Armada Scavenger and G1 Bonecrusher are both green Bulldozers
Energon Treadbolt and G2 Bonecrusher are both yellow Bulldozers
How is the modern toy not "Nothing Like" the earlier one??

I can't find s PRIOR use of the orange emergency colours for Red Alert but just as the original Armada Rede Alert pairs nicely with the Emergency Team the Powerlinx version pairs well with the X-Dimension Emergency team and probably informed the colour choice there

Only the colour yellow carries over from Treadshot to Bonecrusher. The colour placements don't match. The robot modes don't match. Bonecrusher alt mode is all yellow. Treadbolt alt mode just has a wee bit of yellow. You're reaching here. -Ralph

Ok, so Red Alert is very much the better toy here. Much as I like the Starscream mold I think that Red has a lot more going on in the way of play value, and as a toy for an eight-year old I think it is superior. But the question isn't which is the better toy. It is which is the better repaint. And that Orange and White combination is...not good... in my opinion. I don't think that those colours work together well at all. It just looks jarring to me.
The dark blue, with the red trim and the orange canopy works much better I think. As well as looking very "cell-animation" in terms of colour pallete. It is striking, but feels like it "flows" as a deco in a way that Red's orange-and-white doesn't.
Thundercracker/Supermode Starscream takes it.

Not a fan of the red alert mould, not sure why exactly, something just doesn't work. But I actually like the colours and longarm is clearly the better minicon.
But the starscream mould is about as good as Armada got in this size class and thunder cracker colours are always nice.

Skywarp is a remould of Armada Starscream, who was repainted as Thundercracker (Starscream Super Mode in Japan) and in Starscream's Energon toy colours in a VS Pack with a Prowl made from Red Alert. Skywarp himself is repainted as Universe Ramjet Skywarp dumps Starscream's Minicon and gains an entirely new one called Thunderclash tfwiki.net/wiki/Thunderclash_(Armada)#ArmadaHe has a minor repaint as Universe Thuderclash tfwiki.net/wiki/Thunderclash_(Armada)#Universe_.282003.29That's more different than the Unreleased Universe Thuderclash is! tfwiki.net/wiki/Thunderclash_(Armada)#NotesHe appears three times in Micron Booster Vol 2: Saber tfwiki.net/wiki/BarnstormProcessor tfwiki.net/wiki/FlashdriveTriac tfwiki.net/wiki/BingoPredacon is a relatively minor remould of Transmetal Megatron adding some Minicon posts. The original Megatron mould also gets a limited edition silver repaint in Japan Predacon's Minicons Skid-Z & Sideburn are repaints of the Street Speed Team's Spiral & Backtrack. The third Minicon in that team Backtrack is repainted as Airazor's Nightscream Armada Beasts | | | | | | | Street Speed Team (MM-06 Street Speed Micron) | | | | | | |

The appearance of the Skid-Z minicon nam here is interesting. Skid-Z was previously used as the name of a RID Flipchanger which was 2 packed with Windshear and the Windshear name is also reused around now for Wheeljack's minicon.
Throw in the Sideburn Minicon and there's a lot of raiding of the RiD names here. Ironhide and Armourhide, both used elsewhere for the repaint Minicons packed with beasts, also had RiD uses while Airazor's Nightscream was used in Beast Machines
