Now I could have just thrown all 4 updated Maxcons in together but that would have meant 2 jets, one an updated design of the other. The changes made to Predacon to get him to use Minicons came to my rescue there
For me it has to be Skywarp
Mad remould in fab colours. When I shifted on my original Armada Jet moulds - I had all five - Skywarp remained. I just wish I still had an X-Dimension Air Military team to go with him!
A bit of my head says Skywarp should be a straight Starscream repaint but this is a big improvement on the Starscream design. A bit of me still think that Skywarp should have been a black Starscream and this remould saved for something like an Armada version of G1 Thunderwing - anyone able to do appropriate photoshops of both of those.

Explain Thunderclash then. -Ralph It's a very random nameslap. I do wonder if they were thinking of Thunder WING but couldn't use that name for some reason

They are only nameslaps if you subscribe to the premise that every Transformer must have its own unique name.

That depends on whether I'm watching Star Wars or not...
Anyway, has to be Skywarp for me - I just am not a fan of "Predacon" in those colours.

Explain Thunderclash then. -Ralph It's a very random nameslap. I do wonder if they were thinking of Thunder WING but couldn't use that name for some reason A clash of thunder is a common term for the noise that is also referred to as a peal of thunder, or a crash of thunder and all of them are essentially describing a loud noise from the sky which has often been seen as being an ominous portent of doom. It doesn't seem that random a name to give to a decepticon aligned Mini-con who transforms into some form of fast aerospace craft - thus likely being accompanied by a loud ominous sound from the sky. You'd think I'm going to give this one to Skywarp. But I'm not. Whilst it is a very nice redeco - that black and purple is a candidate for the best colour scheme on that Armada jet mold - I don't like the remold. He has a ...thing... on the top of his head, which sticks up from the aircraft mode in a very random location. It is just...there... for no obvious reason, it doesn't feel like it has anything to do with the rest of the aesthetic and...no... On the other hand, Predacon starts from the rather fun Transmetal Megatron design. I mean, he's got roller-skates, that is absurd in the best possible way! The new colour scheme is great - it gives very strong "toy dinosaur" vibes which suits the rather plasticy-looking sculpt on the toy. It adds minicon hardpoints in locations that do the least amount of damage to the overall aesthetic, and comes with two little robot chaps for extra play value. Clearly the much better package, non? Repaints: Megatron is repainted in Armada as Galvatron. There is a limited edition (100 units) Black Megatron in Micron Legend in Japan and a 2004 OFTCC convention Mega Zarak Jetfire is repainted in Armada as Powerlinx Jetfire. He has an unreleased Universe version Spacewarp which would have come with a Space Team repaint. These colours were modified as TFCC Astrotrain who came with a Cybertron Giant Planet team repaint Tidal Wave was sold in Japan's Micron Legend line in his cartoon colours where he was renamed Shockwave. He receives another repaint in the Energon line

Always liked the Armada Galvatron colours, so my vote goes to him this week. One of the toys I actually sold on when having a purge (and that's not something I do much).

ML Shockwave is not a repaint of Armada Tidal Wave. It is merely the colours that toy was sold as in Japan.

It's noticeably different colours to the one we looked at previously and it came out after the original.
Repaint will do as a description for most of us.

It can only be a repaint if it is a new version of a previously released mould in that country. One cannot repaint what was not available.
Sorry, but a very clear..ILLEGAL POLL.

If Micron Legend Shockwave was released in those colours in the west then it's a repaint. If not, then I feel I'm agreeing with Ralph here.

It's still an existing mould in different colours though. I'd probably refer to it as a Takara repaint if it came after the Hasbro one. Saying Takara Tidal Wave suggests it's a different mould.

It's the Takara version, not a repaint. Ralph is technically correct.

"Saying Takara Tidal Wave suggests it's a different mould."
Not really. It correctly identifies the alternative version sold in a particular market.

Predacon wins.... .... it does appear that two Minicons are better than one! Correlation is not causation. We can conclude that Predacon is packaged with two mini-cons and won this poll, but we can not conclude from that fact alone that Predacon won the poll because he was packaged with two mini-cons. It would be equally valid, in the absence of definite evidence to confirm why people voted the way they did, that Green is the better colour. Or that Predacon is the better toy, or Dinosaurs are better than jet aircraft... It is possible for two postulates to be correct, and a conclusion to be logically valid conclusion, but for that conclusion not to be correct. As a famous naval officer once said:- "Logic, Mr Saavik, merely enables one to be wrong with authority" Karl

Magna Convoy. The gold Optimus Prime honestly looks a bit cheap and nasty to me. The Magna Convoy colours also have more visual interest on the cab mode, with the two colour patterning.
