I've actually forgotten to vote recently as I lost interest in all these slightly different Minicons. As I said this is the last of the Armada/Micron Legend Minicon polls. There's some more uses of the original Armada teams to come in Universe, Micron Boosters for Superlink & Galaxy Force, promos for Galaxy Force and in Cybertron. But they're not for a while yet and nowehere near as repetitive as the last few weeks. It is making me think about how to do the Movie lines and their slightly tweaked versions again...... Could they just go in the Extra polls on the Mondays?

Finishes tomorrow, one last day of voting on Minicons before we return to the bigger boys, with two of the same mould!

Wait what. We're free of the Minicons, but we still have to deal with repeating molds? This isn't the future that was promised to us. It's lies! This whole world is built on lies!

We are not free of Minicons yet. They return in Cybertron/Classics/Universe.

More to come .... but not for a while yet (year+)
And, although the Minicon polls will be behind us, they'll still be pack ins in this week and next week's polls. But you've seen the last new or recoloured Minicon for Armada

Once again, I have no recollection of having seen any of these before. They are a bit more of a mixed bag than the previous poll I feel. Some of them are just "here are cars in different normal car colours", there are plain white ones, greyscale ones...some of the Undergrove team which look kind of drab to me (I suspect my colour-blindness influences how I see them). On the other hand, Undergrove Duster looks neat - and has a very appropriate name. (I don't know if it is deliberate, but some early conversions of surplus tanks to Anti-Aircraft vehicles in the US Army were nicknamed "Dusters". No I don't know why, and seeing as Duster is a tracked anti-aircraft vehicle he is essentially the descendant of those early Dusters...). But then there are Shot and Bomb - rocking up all Gothed Up and pretty in their purple, black, red and lilac finery... They are just absolutely great. It is a very close run thing, but in the end I've had to give it to Bomb, just for the more striking of the two schemes.

Hot Rod, the Japanese version of Hotshot, retains the intended light up hand gimmick that the western version lacks and in the Armada line is found only on Superbase Optimus. It's activated by pressing the wing mirror on that forearm Otherwise he's identical to the western version

The other reason for doing them is it draws attention to the fact they exist!

Supermode isnt better exactly, but its more interesting and less an assault on the eyes. Exactly my thoughts, and why I've voted the same. Also, likewise, I actually had no idea these existed.

I'm not doing this just to be contrary, truly. But I have to give this to the MC-03 Hot Rod.
I actually prefer the yellow, especially on the car mode, I think it pops better than the red does, which I think tends to swamp the look of the vehicle and turn it into a red blob.
Not a fan of the colour swap on Jolt either - I much prefer them being orange.
In short, the red is not as striking, I much prefer the yellow.
The MC-13 scheme is also too much like the "The Transformers" Hot Rod, making MC-13 look a bit too much like a tribute act and removing the sense of it that it is a different character with their own identity. It comes off as "look, we've redecoed this to look like an old toy". Which kinds of lessens the appeal of it.
This is the kind of thing that I don't mind when it is something like assigning the personal "ace" colour choice in a new scheme to a mecha supposed to be being piloted by the pilot of a previous mecha (the blue-white, and red-white scheme on Max and Miriya's VF-22s for example, where they use the same colours but laid out differently to the scheme on their VF-1's, or the This Gelgoog is red because Char Aznable is driving it). But when it is a different character that just happens to share a name with a character from another story in a setting, giving them the same look feels rather uncreative to me.

In context of the time, Hot Shot was essentially the Hot Rod-esque character for the Autobots so there is decent logic to this redeco. It just doesn't seem obvious two decades later.

Yeah character and designwise he's kind of a hybrid of G1 Hotrod & Bumblebee
It makes sense. All the Unicron Trilogy Hot Shots have a Hot Rod redeco, or a variant on one. Energon is "interesting" but you can see Hot Rod is at the heart of what they're trying to do. I'd have liked to see them go the full Red Car there.

We've done larger toys, we've done Minicons, what's left for the last week of Armada/Micron Legend?

Are there some exclusives we haven't covered? Like Crystal Convoy? Not sure who he'd be up against though. Lucky Draw Unicron?

Crystal Convoy is the only TV Magazine exclusive for Micron Legend. He is not the only TV Magazine exclusive and will follow later with his fellows....

Actually that's not strictly true. For Micron Legend TV Magazine also had Armada Nemesis Prime as an exclusive named Scourge tfwiki.net/wiki/Nemesis_Prime_(Armada)#ToysWe've already done Nemesis Prime in the Armada Supercon repaints and the Japanese Scourge isn't different enough from Nemesis Prime to warrant looking at again.
