Man, I wish Hasbro would get someone competent to do thier toy photography. The two best looking toys there are the ones that (by todays standards) are the most brick like.

Some of those may be official images, but they may not be. You'd need to go to the linked pages, click the photos and see what the images data says

Yeah, the two good ones are Walky and Seibertron, the bad ones are stock.

When it comes to taking better photos they should use whoever does GI Joe's. They make the toys look rather flash so people like me part with their cash

Though the Doctor thrice doth bellow For the Magnus of urine, yellow, I find that I must choose the toy more often known as Powered Convoy

True, in this respect he is alone but I’m quite a fan of Diaclone and so it is Powered Convoy that of these two brings me most joy

So, some colours work for me as colour schemes, and some don't. I'm not averse to the idea of a clear colour version of Ultra Magnus, in fact I think it is a fun idea - it almost makes it look like the core 'bot is floating in a "virtual" version of the trailer... It would make an excellent "brother" for Ultra Magnus - give it a gimmick of the trailer being only semi-physical to explain the light passing through it and it has a good "inexplicably unique capability typical of the first year or two of the line. The problem is that yellow. I'm not fond of yellow particularly as a colour, and that particular yellow is specific I just don't like. So unfortunately Urine Magnus gets points taken off for poor choice of colour scheme.
On the other hand, the Powered Convoy colours are basically my favourite colour scheme that this mold has ever had. That Red/Blue/Grey scheme I think just pops really nicely, and has a traditional super-robot "two primary colours and whatever" sense to it. There is a reason that one of the few recent "legacy" toys I have retained is the diaclone colours Ultra/God Magnus hybrid. So yeah, Powered Convoy colours Magnus gets my votge here.

Now, if I was being puerile I would of course vote for Shining Magnus because, of course, he looks like wee wee and that's always funny. But, as the Kaptain, puts it, that yellow isn't necessarily the best choice of colour for a translucent mold, and Movie Preview Magnus does arguably have the better colours.
However. As ever I'll answer the question based on what I'd be most likely to buy out of the choices available, and given the choice I wouldn't hesitate to pick up Shining Magnus. Just because it's such a ridiculous choice, and it really is rather striking. And because I have a fondness for daft translucent repaints.
Okay, and maybe a little because of the wee wee.

If you choose the colours of piss, this is quite frankly a swing and a miss, The colour selection of movie preview nee Powered convoy, Are a sight to behold, and bring naught but joy, It makes me disappointed and my stomach doth churns, To see another so foolish as to side with Burns, Now you might say opinions are subjective, but in thise case, yours is wrong and clearly defective, Do not worry, they will be no retaliation, You are simply in need of reeducation.

Finishes tomorrow, Movie Preview winning 10-4
They'll be some screaming if he wins, but they'll be some screaming tomorrow anyway as the storm starts
There's a Hot Rod repaint situation approaching but there's also a tiny bit of envelope stretching this week to gather like together and make things easier down the line.

POTENTIAL ILLEGAL POLL!!!

So no change from the usual Thursday in your eyes? When we did Hot Rod I don't think we concluded that was definitely illegal, due to them being sold in separate boxes and it coming down to unknown intents on the part of Takara/E-Hobby. An identical situation exists this time and, like last time I am choosing to believe that separate boxes indicates they were meant to be sold separately. Like I said, there's a further complication this week in that I am pulling in a repaint from the future, of one of the TF Collection toys, so it's grouped here with like toys instead of being an anomaly out on it's own. It also highlights something that, in retrospect, was a rather odd choice by Takara.... TFC is not that far in the future after the original box reissues, and some continue while TFC is going on, so I think we can allow it 2000 1 Convoy tfwiki.net/wiki/Optimus_Prime_(G1)/toys December 2000 C-69 Ultra Magnus December 2000 C-78 Hot Rodidmus 2001 God Ginrai March 2001 16-S Megatron June 2001 22 Starscream early 2002 New Year Convoy Februry 2002 D-98 Sixshot (The limited edition New Year Red Alert & Sideswipe are released round this point) May 2002 SixLiner blindboxes September 2002 SixTurbo blindboxes New packaging has been done for the blindboxes, most of which looks very traditionally Transformers but in 2002 both Hasbro and Takara start lines of reissues in stiffer cardboard boxes with an opening front panel and new, or altered, package graphics. 2002-2004 Commemorative Series tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Transformers:_Generation_One_Commemorative_SeriesJuly 2002-March 2006 Transformers Collection tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Transformers_CollectionBut around these the original format packging and blindboxes continue for toys that don't fit Hasbro & Takara's book format reissues, above. February 2003 SixWing blindboxes March 2003 SixBuild blindboxes July 2003 Sixtrain blindboxes December 2003 Multiforce blindboxes 2004 Predaking 2005 Galvatron 62-S (original colours was an e-Hobby exclusive) 2006 G2 Battle Convoy (e-Hobby Ultra Magnus) From my POV the problem more is we're not doing TF Collection, and their limited editions, in these polls for a few years yet: they run 2004-2006 so at the same time as Superlink to the year after Galaxy Force and my current placement has them following Cybertron. I could bring them forward a bit between Energon/Superlink and Galaxy Force/Cybertron but the gap there is already quite busy with 6 months of Universe and Robotmasters.....

Digging down a little deeper....
Transformers Collection Releases
2002 0-6 2003 7-11 2004 12-16 2005 17-20 2006 21 Japanese Main Toylines
2003 Micron Legend 2004 Superlink 2005 Galaxy Force Western Main Toylines
Mid 2002-2003 Armada 2004- Mid 2005 Energon Mid 2005-2006 Cybertron 2007 Classics Other Toylines
2003-2005 Universe 2004-2005 Robotmasters 2003-2006 Alternators
So yeah, maybe after Energon might be a better spot for TF Collection reissues, after Universe and Robotmasters
Energon's going to be an odd one. Most of the line comes out in the West first, but we're going to have a deviation in the middle to some Superlink toys which came out BEFORE their Western counterparts at the end of the line and look at how their repaint phases differ and oh boy do they differ! We'll then do Galaxy Force FIRST, because it was all but done by the time Cybertron started and then do Cybertron's add ons to build Galaxy Force Uop
