Well, that's very disappointing. I was expecting a sudden surge to get it over the line.
(I wasn't.)
They do certainly need to take a look at what the Joe team's doing, though. Although I think in this case they should have looked at sales of their standard lightsabers to see if they could really sell a Haslab one.
It was a surprise that the Rancor didn't get funded. But then that was announced during the Haslab apocalypse, so maybe it would have worked on its own.

It was a surprise that the Rancor didn't get funded. But then that was announced during the Haslab apocalypse, so maybe it would have worked on its own. Rancor was timing. A few months later when Book of Fett was happening and throw in a few Fett options as well as the Jedi ones and I reckon it would have funded just fine. Both the SW successes have been 3 3/4 inch vehicles so far. There's a market there.....

It helps that that market is already well established and likes adding to its collection. 6" Black Series isn't a collection with much beyond the actual figures. I recall the Snowspeeder, Landspeeder and Speeder bike. Even I've got the Landspeeder & Snowspeeder. Then there's the Dewback and Tauntaun. Oh they did a Tie Fighter years ago didn't they, but then only released it in First Order colours and not the proper original deco.
If you look at the HISS tank, it works just as well as a centre piece for a figure display as it does a toy vehicle. The stretch additions also really make a difference. Given the Snowspeeder was around £100, if for RotJ's anniversary next year they do a Haslab AT-ST for under £300 I think it would work. Stretch goals would be the pilot, additional Ewok remoulds etc. I'd go for that. Mucking about with the Origins stuff has really put it back in my mind that toy displays work so much better with accessories to the figures. I know that's why I got so into the Micromasters a few years back; Micromaster bases are one of the most fun things Transformers have done.

This is interesting...
I am pondering...
On the one hand, the stuff we like MADE BIG is good.
But on the other hand, play type stuff only works with smaller scale representations of the stuff we like.

That's the thing. 6" scale is more display than toy and it's just too big for lots of vehicles and playsets.

Both the SW successes have been 3 3/4 inch vehicles so far. There's a market there..... There always was. But with that range no longer being something for kids (for whatever reasons) there are no vehicles on the shelves any more. So if this is the only way to get them, it'll work...
