Ahhh Cannon Fodder. The nights I spent in my Uni digs playing that instead of sitting in the bar drinking money away. Same with Frontier and Syndicate.
I sold my A1200 when I had to move to PCs for work but have always regretted it. Now I have restored my BBC and swapped out its 3.5 inch drive for a Gotek, I need to fix up one of the two Archimedes I have then an A1200 would be next, but they cost a bomb now and I doubt I'd use a 1200 for anything other than playing games. Don't think I have any discs with personal files and data on now. Did a lot of DTP back in the day. If the emulation on this is spot on it would probably make more sense.

If you have a Playstation 4 provided the controller is charged it will work for the A500 mini - makes Speedball 2 so much easier.

I do indeed.
What about games that use keyboard input? Any notes on that?

Games should never have evolved beyond text adventures and sprites.

I do indeed. What about games that use keyboard input? Any notes on that? A usb expander and USB keyboard are needed for any that aren't part of the pre-installed ones as they can use the virtual keyboard.

Any news on if the Amiga mini will get ongoing support and s/w updates?

Another firmware update and more ability to tweak the advance settings and easier to use ADF's now.
Not installed it yet though.

And as an aside, I was able to go into a WH Smith's and pick up an Amiga Addict magazine from the shelf.
Who would have thought it.

If only that meant it was 1992 again. Doing the last thirty years with hindsight would make things a lot easier. I'd certainly be buying a lot of toilet roll in 2019.

No sign of Amiga Addict or Pixel Addict in my local Smiths. I'm not particularly bothered about the latter, though it does have article on the Atari 800XL (which was my first computers) and Krark, Prince of Darkness.

Completed all 120 levels of 1 player Lemmings.
Bit odd that P keyboard pause stops the clock, but the pause button doesn't.
Very mixed feeling about the level designs. Certainly Mayhem difficulty is the best, but I'm often left wondering if my abuse of game mechanics is intentional in the design of the level or if I've found a weird unintended way of solving it. Then there are levels with obvious solutions, but you've just got to grind it out because the timing is tricky or you need to select a Lemming from a mass but you need it going in a certain direction. Then there are the levels where you block all but one at the start, only to release them once your single trailblazer has put down bridges etc. From a design point of view, the blocked pack adds nothing to the level challenge (except in a few cases when time is a factor), so take it out!
But it's these quibbles that add to the charm, finding an unintended solution is its own reward.
No clue how people played this on systems without a mouse!!

Going to send my Amiga 1200 away either next month or May to get recapped, just to be on the safe side and get it serviced and maybe replace a few ports.

Not had a chance to send it away, but I did grab os 3.2 and some new roms, sadly I need a working hard drive with os 3.1 or higher to do the install.
Unfortunately the failed attempts to install WB 3.1 on the cf drive seem to have goosed it for now, as I tried to hook up the cd drive I have and install 3.5 from CD, but it didn't respond at all.
But i have seen a dealer doing it pre-installed on a CF drive (same one i was going to get the recap and service, so will avail myself of that facility). Did give me the opportunity to give the insides a wee dust and brush.

I seem to have lost my tool for howking out chips, so I will need to snag another as well anyway. Also no word on that alleged A500 maxi that was being rumoured shortly after the A500 mini was released.
