Today was never going to be good. A friend has a birthday party tonight I wanted to go to but I knew I wouldn't be able to cope with however much I wanted to be there due to it's timing and location.
The cold all but sealed that one for us, but doing my hip won't help get me there either.
Finding this one challenging in terms of what I can do......
Then FB reminds me it's two other friends birthdays today, one who I've not seen in a fair few years and another who is sadly not with us anymore. Both of those are also proving challenging, but for different reasons.

Last time Ralph had to go Edinburger all trains to/from Scotland were cancelled by TPE. Today we try again. Announcement that some services will be cancelled due to lack of train crew. Edinburger train not on departure board but National Rail Enquiries has it on time...

Rejoice, Phil, for the New Year means you can go to bed at a civilised hour tonight (as will I) and sleep safe in the knowledge that nobody will be starting the Week 2 thread before midnight, and that when one of us does (after sleep) we know its name will be Rhyming Week (not "Oh no not Rhyming Week" or "Not another bloody Rhyming Week" or "The first Rhyming Week of a new decade" thank you very much). Because we're all going to be mature and grown-up this year.
While conversing in rhyme.
