But still nothing to state the TFA comic was cancelled. So anyone who happens not to be online at all [see news all the time about gov trying to get everyone online because lots of people aren't] still doesnt know it was cancelled.

Well I imagine those who have been unable to find a copy have worked it out by now.

a newsagent near me stopped getting Amazing X-men in 5 months before it was cancelled. i got all the copies [3] they had in when they had those £4 free trading cards packs on & the shop decided to stop stocking it then.

It's ok - the shop closed down a few years later on because not making any money. [might be because not getting in anything that sold]

And thus the world was made right once again.
Had a look at #22 on the shelf. Looks fun. Will pick it up when funds allow. The new cover logo looks very spiffy. It will be interesting to see if the change in title results in changes to content.

But surely it should have been called Universe from #1 or when they started with MO. But would still like to see the comic become a CE - that way more pages for same price & look what happened to the only Marvel comic where they increased the size of the US comics [Ultimate Marvel - Spiderman/Xmen/Fan4] it got cancelled.

Well, it's not so uncommon for comics to change their title but keep the numbering. A famous case being Journey Into Mystery which changed name to The Mighty Thor.
Or Doctor Who Weekly which became Doctor Who Monthly then Doctor Who: A Marvel Monthly then Doctor Who Magazine without rebooting to #1.
It's possible Titan have had a rethink re: TF newsstand title and so ditching a seperate Animated title and rebranding the existing title so it's not just a Movie tie-in comic might suit their business plan better. Who knows. Purely speculation on my part. It'll be interesting to see if the interior format changes.

Considering the comic has Movie, Beast Wars and pre-G1 co-existing and is about to chuck in Animated, "Universe" just makes sense.
I'm hoping after #26 they keep this up with reprints from IDW's Animated comic! (And also reprint Defiance so I don't have to buy it!)
Real question is - at the moment, the alternate universe run of stories seems to be heading for a grand finale: return of an old foe, Allen's control chip known about, Jazz showing hints of turning back, the end of Earth seemingly resolved off-panel, and liberation of the Decepticon heartland seeming obvious. Soooo... what's happening after, when Revenge Of The Fallen is nearing the cinemas?
Are they going to adapt ROTF into the alternate universe? Tell inter-movie stories, around-movie and then post-movie stories?
And when are we getting more digest reprints?!

I remember when "The Transformers" changed to "Transformers" after issue 200 in 1989.

I found the second and third collections of the Titan strips, though Amazon doesn't bother indicating this.

Hmmm. I had thought the second one to be mythical: never saw it in bookstores. Even the comic failed to advertise it!
Will pick that up in due course, methinks.

24000 sounds fairly bad, none of the links are working so I cant compare but I would have thought sales would be down across the board from a year ago. but with the new movie only a few issues away Im sure there will be a big boost.
I asked Simon Furman at AA if the new continuity would divert back into the sequel and while he didnt say yes outright he did say it probably would. It would be good if the movie adaptation was actually relased within or along sidethe comic this time.

That is quite a drop. I should think that they would have been transitioning back to more clearly tie-in with the new movie anyway. But if they had been tempted not to I suspect these figures might have coloured their thinking.

It's not good reading and it's selling less than the Dandy.

it's selling less than the Dandy. Oh fuck. I wonder if the choice of reprint material helped make this worse? (A recession and being tied into an "old" film would, combined, always drop sales) Should get better when ROTF comes out though.

Hard to say, I think it might have affected some sales from the older collectors, I do think launching a separate animated title was a bad move and they should have incorporated it within the main comic.

It's certainly a lot clearer now why the Animated title died so quickly.
Hopefully it will get a push with the movie hype, if advertised well enough. Titan have rebooted their Star Wars title five times now and that seems to work well enough. I had always expected TF would be rebooted with a new #1 for the second movie. I wonder if that will happen.

I'd be surprised if they didn't restart it. The combination of being attached to the hype of a new popcorn-movie, combined with the being a new comic that an #1 and being able to leverage that newness onto your cover-dress brings would seem to be almost too good to pass up.

#23 arrived this morning. Contains an extra 11 pages of strip thanks to the inclusion of Animated (it'll be in next issue too) and there was an extra free gift not advertised last issue. As well as the pen/sticker set you get a roll of small Animated stickers in a cardboard dispenser. I know the Animated strip is just leftovers from the other comic but it'd be good if 4 strips became the norm.
Good cliffhanger to the main strip but I still don't understand what's happening in the Ascending. Other good stuff this issue includes Sudoku (as Transdoku) and a Cybertronian residency exam.

It was the one for #4 - & great that its by Simon Furman too. Also that the title is now Transformers Universe from now on. So most issues are going to be £2.99 from now on. with all the animated comics in them. But what is going to be in Megatron Origin when finished & BW?

Titan might choose to run some of the IDW ROTF tie-in strips or Reign of Starscream.

Something more accessible than Origins would be nice.
23 was a good read though. The main story was really great, nice balance between classic marvel UK style story and the fell of the Bay movie. That was also the best Animated strip so far, the Dinobots felt well handled especially considering hte lack of dialogue. Still enjoying Beast Wars.
