The Aeronauts: let down a bit by a thin script but it was nice and passed the time ok. It was helped a lot by the flying bits using the full size of the Imax screen.

Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound. All over the place and a tad bitty. Disappointing.
Doctor Sleep: a sequel to Kubrick's film of The Shining should not work and yet, to my surprise, I quite enjoyed this. It's not in the same league at all but on its own merits I thought it was quite engaging and I thought it had something to say. Doesn't feel like a cheap cash-in at all, which was what the trailer suggested.

Terminator: Fark Fate - easily one of the most boring and pointless sequels I have ever seen. It manages the impossible by making Genysis look intricate and enthralling by comparison. I weep at what has happened to this once great series. What happened to the Big Ideas? What happened to the innovative and exciting action sequences? Only Arnie brings some joy. Avoid. -Ralph Agreed. At least Genisys had humour. Martin I concur. This is a film made with the wrong kind of drapes.

John Wick 3 12. Godzilla 13. Aladdin 14. Late Night 15. Detective Pickachu 16. Avengers: Endgame - 4th viewing with the deleted scene and Stan Lee tribute. 17. Spider-man Far from Home 18. Toy Story 4 19. Hobbs and Shaw - fun 20. Blinded By the Light -21. Apollo 11 -22. Fighting with My Family 23. Ad Astra 24. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - Spent the entire film wondering where it was going, but the journey was fun so no problems there. -25. MIB International - another I forgot I saw, Actually not as bad as I expected. 26. Gemini Man - Odd one. If it had scome out 20 years ago we'd be talking about it as a classic of the period, but the vfx couldnt have been done then. Released now it feels really dated. Im not quite sure which version I saw but it looked off so Im guessing I saw a higher frame rate version. A little curious to watch it on dvd to see if it looks a bit more normal. Smiths really good though. Abominable - Quite beautiful. The Chinese setting and culture was a refreshing change, though I couldn't get passed the sense of propoganda. 27. The Addams Family - Not quite what I expected. A bit more kid friendly than the live action ones. Which is a shame, but still funny. Great voice cast. 28. Terminator Dark Fate - Liked how they created space for a new direction. Unimpressed when new direction looked remarkably like the old direction. I know its terminator, but it still seemed like a missed opportunity. Really enjoyed the cast and what they were doing. 29. Zombieland 2 - Really doesnt want to be set a full decade later but there was no pretending Little Rock was still 11. Fun but pretty forgetable. 30. Le Mann 66 - Enjoyable.

Midway: passable Sunday afternoon fair.
Le Mans '66 AKA Ford V Ferrari: in times to come this will be seen as the exact moment Christian Bale completed his descent from most exciting actor of his generation to Poundland Dick Van Dyke. Also: why is Matt Damon impersonating Tommy Lee Jones??

I thought 21 Bridges was crap. Pissed away a good cast and a good premise. Also amused how the advertising was all 'FROM THE VISIONARY DIRECTORS OF AVENGERS: END GAME'. Er, they are among many producers on the film and they didn't direct it.

Not convinced about some of the praise its gotten though. Spoiler As its own thing I'd probably be more positive, but in order to work it needs to make everyone else fucking awful. Which isnt my take on Alfred and Batmans Dad. (Admittedly Ive never read the source material so could be perfectly legitamate)
Also doesnt help that Phoenix looks a fair bit older than his 45 years but is playing someone who I'm pretty sure is meant to be at least a decade younger.

Regards Joker {Spoiler}The thing is in the context of the world they have - Thomas Wayne would be an asshole. I don't think Alfred is necessarily unpleasant, he is protecting his employer's son from a potential menace.
It has to be it's own thing - a Batman can't come out of that film.
POOR PEOPLE ARE A SUSPICIOUS AND COWARDLY LOT. I SHALL STRIKE FEAR INTO THEM.
It would skew very close to the Mills/O'Neill Batman analogue in Marshall Law. I also agree about the praise being somewhat OTT.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot - Its certainly not going to win over new fans (at least its hard to imagine) and I nearly didnt go see it because I felt like it was going to be painful to watch. Then the second scene was everything I was worried it would be. And then it suddenly gets better and mostly stays good or better for the rest of the film. Theres one bit later on that got almost no reaction in the cinema and a really cant decide if it was intentionally bad as a meta joke or was just bad. In this film it really could be either. The sort of film that plays best to a packed cinema of fans which means the one night only showing almost certainly worked in it favour. Im glad I saw it in that envirnment as I saw the first Jay and Bob Strike Back in a packed US cinema and it was a genuinely joyful experience that this film allowed me to relive a bit which pretty much seems to be the point of making it. Sooooo it does what its meant to..... even if its technically not a good film? Or it might be a good film too, theres plenty of character development going on it it take the chance to catch up with lots of characters and nicely wraps up their stories. Honestly that sense of "I need to give this film some thought" that everyone seems to have felt about Joker, Im having it about Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. I ..... yeah....

Just a little moment in the film, not really important to the plot at all, just something that suprised me so I'll leave it in spoilers just in case. Spoiler Theres a beautful little tribute to Stan Lee. It felt like we were done with them so it caught me by suprise. Got a wee bit emotional.
