I will ask J. She may need persuasion. -Ralph I'll try not to take it personally! Or is she not a Jumanji fan? She hasn't seen the last one. -Ralph

Illness meant I missed Charlie's Angels. Knives Out only has 9:10pm showings: not conducive to getting up at 6:30am for work.

I was really surprised when BBC News decided the bad reviews made it worthy of being a ten o'clock news item. I mean, how many duff films get a bit on the news saying basically, "Jesus, everyone says this film is really shit - and it is!"

Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood
39. Star Wars - The Rise of Skywalker - I have less issues with the film itself and more with how Disney and Lucasfilm went about putting the trilogy together. At one time the MCU was accused of not knowing where it was going, but a, didnt need to and b, that was a while ago and they gotten pretty good and forward planning. So who the hell thought winging it with the last chance to use Hamil, Fisher and Ford was a good idea.
Have at least a strong outline for the trilogy THEN bring in a film maker to give it their own spin. I still dont know if TLJ was good or not, but it clearly deviated so far from where TFA planned to go that it might as well have been the start of a brand new trilogy. The only real chance of episode 9 wrapping things up well would have been for Johnson to have done it and I really dont know f that would have been a good idea or not. His take on Star Wars was interesting but I dont know if I'd have wanted it to be the definitive end of the episodes.
As is I think JJ film has an okay basic concept that does a okay job of meshing the 2 really not compatible previous films. The script isnt great, in part because its become a trilogy made up of two part ones and a part 3 that has to cram a part two, but also the dialogue is pretty bad in places. But elsewhere I was really moved.
A bit like Game of Thrones I dont feel the last episode was bad but it was dragged down by how they got there.
