THE LIBRARY HELPDESK WILL BE CLOSING IN APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES. THAT IS 10 MINUTES. THANKYOU. Well that's unusual to say the least. A ten minute warning. Of course we know it's early closing on Fridays. I was in Sainsburgeries shopping so missed the fun. Boo. |

It opened at 9am this morning, and the times concur with our current estimates of closing at 7.50pm Mon-Thur with a cheeky hour off on a Friday. OUR DATA IS CORRECT. Proof, if any we needed, that Ralph IS in the library. AND LOOK! a handy dandy real time updated meter to show library occupancy.
Updated every five minutes you can see here an indicator of occupancy of the Main Library based upon library entries and exits using anonymized and aggregrated card data recorded at the barriers.How COOL. Let's test this. The meter online says the library is currently at 57% capacity. REPEAT 57% CAPACITY. What does our man on the ground say? Ralph, over to you for on the spot reporting and verification of current library fullnessosity... |

Interesting. Ralph leaves the library and the capacity goes up to 58%. Therefore, we can assume that very recently, at least two people went into the library.

That's the same meter as the website. If you hover over it with a mouse it gives you the exact percentage.
