I've been tempted by the novel in Asdaland but it looks like a thin read and I can feel the strongest time of SW fever slowly leaving me. I have reserved it at the library. I am 5th in the queue. -Ralph It is now in my hands. Foster doesn't seem thrilled with the material. Hard going. -Ralph

Foster has made such a career of these movie adaptions? I remember reading his Alien Trilogy back in my formative years (surprisingly based on the director's/Assembly cuts, which in the latter case didn't exist for another 10 years)
I'd be interested in the differences that exist in the novelisation.

I'm about 90 pages in and so far it's almost exactly a transcription of what was on screen and little more. I'm finding it quite boring to be honest.

Foster has made such a career of these movie adaptions? It is only really used to be a supplement to his career - something he could do fairly swiftly to keep money coming in whilst he was working on his next Pip and Flinx novel or whatever. He got a good reputation for being able to turn them out to deadline and to quality, so the work kept coming in. Recently his output of his own stuff slowed and the balance has tipped more towards the novelisations. Or possibly on the shooting scripts in the case of the first two, where I believe he had a bit of lead time. So may well have turned in a manuscript before the final edit was done. Karl

Anyone know what the story time gap is going to be between Ep VII and VIII. I'd like to see Rey's initial interactions with Luke*, but we're going to miss it and most of her training if we jump forward a few years.
* assuming they didn't know each other before she was abandoned. And now it's time for Stom's crazy EpVII-IX theories... #1... Snoak is Vader's dark side force ghost Dun dun durrr!

TFA is still in theatres so it passed an afternoon today. It now becomes stunningly clear that Nien Numb is behind everything.

A few sites had mentioned bits and pieces but here are the recently posted official details for the Force Awakens Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital release. Out 5th April or the 1st if digital is your bag. US, but I imagine it'll around the same time worldwide. Can't say I like any of the covers and I'm not thrilled about Target getting an "added 20 minutes of bonus content" (not sure who'll get that over here). 3D release later in the year. I don't have a 3D TV, but I imagine there will be further bonusy stuff there too.

Target implies Tesco, but it's usually Sainsbury's that have additional extras on big film disc releases.
