Sorry I thought it was already out! Out in the US I believe, so there may be chatter on the interwebs to the effect of its release. I'm planning on holding out for a late-summer/christmas purchase, depending on how long it takes before it drops to Tesco's £7 price bracket. Karl

Like all shiny discs it will be cheap fairly quick. I have seen it enough not to be in any rush.

Caught an ASDA advert for the DVD/BD release this morning.

Nope. Amazon are the same price, but I can't see anywhere offering it for less. Anyone have a packaging preference? I'm going with Light Side, but I'd say the regular sleeve within is better than either slipcase. Originally I thought I'd grab the steelbook but I really don't like how it turned out:

I grabbed the Walmart bd/DVD mostly because I liked the bb88 slip case. Picked up the best buy steelbook for a friend, looks okay.

Game stores will sell you the BD for £10 *if* you spend £30 in store on other stuff.

TargetBest Buy Steelbook looks better than the Zavvi one. I've only just seen that the Blu-Ray is region free... Ah well, I'll stick with the regular edition. I'm sure there'll be a super deluxe edition out later that I'll end up picking up.

THIS FILM IS SUSPICIOUSLY SIMILAR TO 'STAR WARS'

That was okay I guess. Perfectly competent. But you'd hope so given that it was literally the script of Star Wars with some names changed... wowzers.

Right if this is now out to buy, what cocktail of variant releases does one need to purchase to acquire the full suite of extras?
Or are we waiting on an extended edition at Christmas?

One version in the US had a few extra making of bits. The ones no one watches very often, choreography, make up or similar. Otherwise the only difference seems to be the box it comes in.

It's all right, Jedi is Star Wars with the serial numbers filed off too. I enjoyed it. I'd like to see where they go with some of the film's undercurrents in the next movie. Good to see Nien Nunb survived the battle and was there at the end! Where did female alien get the lightsaber from? That was the one lost at Bespin in Empire! Can we dispense, and indeed remove, the spoilers now? Anyone not seen it yet who cares?

I mean it was okay but I feel a bit... annoyed, to be honest. Tricked? First time round I was pretty furious that I had been sold a remake when I thought I was getting something new. Second time around I knew what I was getting and relaxed into enjoying it for what it is. I don't think it's a great film and easily the weakest of the 7 films to date but it does have a certain easy watchability to it. I think I have seen it enough though with the power of the Unlimited card. It's not good enough for me to want to own a copy. -Ralph
