Yeah, I'd much prefer Grapple to have a more original-toy-accurate head, just for the contrast. But it's my first Transformer (by a few minutes) so I can't not get him.

I love how the storyline is about the robots being IN SPACE and battling ANYWHERE IN THE COSMOS but the toy line is 'Earth modes/Sunbow 1984'. -Ralph It's a bloody joke. Why can't they come up with a decent story or premise? It's like PotP, they just made it up as they went along. War for Cybertron is just being made up as they stagger and lurch along. Now some of the figures are amazing! But if these good figures were part of an organised story it would be better for all. I like the idea of a line being set IN SPACE. I'm just befuddled that the line set IN SPACE has put everyone in Earth modes: a planet they haven't been to yet! -Ralph

I totally agree, Doctor. This line, WFC2, should be IN SPACE. But it isn't IN SPACE. It's on Earth. WFC3, or even the next trilogy after that should been on Earth. With WFC truly being IN SPACE.

A good name for a Transformers line set in space, between Cybertron and Earth, would have been Armada

Did Armada ever actually have can armada in it? I remember pondering this at the time.

Well it had a near ridiculous amount of Minicons (still not enough) Once you put them all together, it was a pretty sizable fleet

I read somewhere years ago that it was part of the early story concept which got dropped, but the name stuck because it sounded good. TFWiki just says that nobody knows though, so that was probably just hearsay.

Interesting - ID Toys say Jan for wave one, yet Kapow and amazon.com say end of March. I suppose this is Kapow playing ball with Hasbro UK and waiting for their stock whereas ID have taken a short cut with imported stock from somewhere.

I'm all for a break to be honest. Earthrise looks amazing but I can wait until March for them. That'll give me a chance to clean up the Siege stuff properly without panicking and get through the Seacons.

One to stay in base mode 1. One to stay in base mode 2. One to form part of the new Micromaster City. One to be donated to other toys in Weaponiser mode.

I wonder if that's a hard and fast date, or whether we'll see the first wave slip out early. It's unusual isn't it? Almost four months from the Dec wave, which usually hit in the first week, to the end of March. We usually see the wave after the Dec one in early Feb.
Like I say, I'm not complaining. I'd welcome a few months without a retail wave to get the existing stuff tidied up.

I’m skipping one! Maybe.. what I am doing though is the same as you and finding the best modern interpretation I can and will be ditching the rest. I need G1, MP and modern.

I'm going for sets of those three too. But MP only as far as the Movie. The 87 lot feel like toys to me and I don't have the desire for MP versions. 84-86 live more in the mind and I want decent display pieces for them.
Thing is I can't keep myself to that. I keep buying Micromasters and other bits. I'm also determined one day to finish my TF Animated collection and fill in the missing few I have from Armada. and... and... and...

I'd welcome a few months without a retail wave to get the existing stuff tidied up. The final wave of Siege is slated for December. Which means many places won't even see it until january, while others may see it start to pop up around thanksgiving. Saturation will happen in january, though. So January for wave 1 sounds way too soon. March sounds about right for how hasbro schedules releases.

Yes, it matches the pattern we know for US retail, but over here through import shops we've had waves earlier over the last few years. What you see in shops mid-Feb/Mar we get in Jan. It just seems this time the date is universal.
