Target just charged me for Runabout.
So it is now feasible that I'll have Runabout before Runamuck. Which means I'll have 3/4ths of Wave two in the form of repaints before wave two has been made available.

Ah, I see. Runabout gets exclusive status due to extra paint detailing. Hasbro don't miss a trick, do they.

At this pace Earthrise is taking, it'll be the year 2044 before we get to wave 73!

It's because 73 years is how long it's taken to get through these last 10 months.

73 is the ASCII code for the letter "I", which gives "WI". Clearly Phil has recently watched the film Calendar Girls, which features members of the Women's Institute taking their clothes off - or streaking. *sits back and plays the violin*

Interesting! Amazon DE canceled wave 3 preorders many months ago, but still has Runamuck on the site (though not currently available to order). My current importer of choice got Sunstreaker in last week, but not his wave-mates. I lost track of how distribution works these days - are they no longer in mixed cases?

They are .... but larger retailers, especially here, are generally taking them solid cased.
I know Kapow, ID & Smyths are. There's some evidence of mixed cases at these retailers too.
Last year in Bentalls in Kingston I was seeing some very skewed distribution of Siege deluxes which made me think they were getting solid cases. Loads of Sideswipe, and nothing else one visit. A good mix of w1 another.

I found Airwave today. But only airwave, so I passed. (If I can assure everyone except the allicon, I'll continue to wait for my preorder.)
But at long last the drought is over!

And they now have the other three in stock (along with the two TF Prime reissue sets, that I didn't order there because they're silly expensive). Sadly my preorder is tied up with Selects Tigertrack.

I am now quantifiably closer to wave two. Found Smokescreen, Arcee, and Airwave in stock on amazon, and not through third party scalpers, and pulled the trigger.
So in theory I now own them and not via unfulfilled preorder that keeps getting pushed back. When I'll get them though is another story. Amazon is fantastically unreliable and unpredictable for me, for some reason.
But this also means when I go to walmart tomorrow, I'll find them all.

Are Ratchet or Ironhide likely to be available on their own at all? Heading to WFC3? Kinda wanted Ratchett, but not keen on double dipping on the female toy.

I plan to refocus on other hobbies in 2021. TF has just become too difficult a hobby to keep up with now. Happy with what I got but otherwise I pretty much tuning out now. -Ralph I can understand that. My interest in new TF's had tailed off quite a bit recently - Cyberverse excepted.. But if it hadn't, I think that the current situation of massive under-availability would have been enough to significantly reduce my interest. When I compare it to some of my other mecha-genre interests, TF is in a dreadful mess in terms of availability. When, even from webstores, you have to put in the levels of work that for brick-and-mortar store exclusives that is even more pronounced than for webstore exclusive, expressly limited-production items to get them in the few-minute window of availability... nah, never mind. I'll go spend my money with people who want me to buy their product. I can't help compare the situation with Transformers - where to get things that aren't released for several months I have to be in the right place, at the right time in a very narrow window - to my current mild gunpla habit. With Gunpla, if I want a kit that was produced ten years ago - like the GN-ARMs that goes with Gundam Exia, no problem - I can go online and secure one in half-an-hour for retail. If I want the Gundam Plutone, which was a web-store exclusive this year, only available in the US and Japan? Again, half-an-hour and quick comparison of who has it for how much, and I could have one on its way. Transformers that aren't coming out for quite a while? I've got a specific half-hour if I'm lucky, and if I don't know about it the secondary market prices will be through the roof... Nah, you're a'ight. I think that my Transformers money next year - assuming I still have a job, roof over my head and food prices haven't absorbed all of my discretionary income - is probably going to go on some Energon/Galaxy Force/PCC Commanders stuff on the secondary market. It is easier to obtain. Karl I'm giving serious thought to cutting back as well. Buying new releases this year has been brutal and has stopped being fun on a few ocassions. Like you, I don't see why I should continue to support a distribution practice that is giving me a worse experience than brick and mortar during a pandemic. Reading about your Gunpla and Gundam experience just made me sick to my stomach with jealousy. Meanwhile, I'm having enormous fun on the secondary market getting the family TF collection back and restoring figures to their prime. It's what collecting *should* be, not this stress battling to get an overloaded website to accept payment in the half hour it has the stock I want.

I sourced Sunstreaker and Fasttrack there tonight. Cancelled by wave 3 preorder, and preordered individual Tralbreaker and Runamuck just in case I can't find them. I'm tired of being patient. I've been very patient for the better part of the year.

It's crazy, isn't it... It seems like we've been talking about Kingdom for so long, when Earthrise hasn't hit wave 3 yet and continues to stutter on in Kingdom's shadow.
