Phil has a list of characters with different faces. Should you think of any, please PM me with them. Would that be pretty much all of them? Or are we sticking to masked Vs face versions? Is there a G1 toy that pretty much had the exact same head design on the toy used in the US cartoon/comic? All the ones I can think of were tweaked somewhat.

Where's the option to vote Dead End as the best Stunticon? Dead End doesn't care for such irrelevancies...

Optimus, Megatron, Soundwave, Prowl/Bluestreak, Shockwave, Rumble/Frenzy, Laserbeak/Buzzsaw, Ravage, Dinobots were all pretty much as the toys. Any tweaks were more artistic styling and simplifying it for animation, rather than a redesign ala Bumblebee.

How can this even be a question? You're making Brawn angry! Martin

Ooohhhhh this one is trickier. My joint first Transformer has a particular place in my heart. His toy face suits him magnificently. But I do like his humanoid face in the cartoon.
Errrrrmmmm....
What do you think, Dead End?
"His face is just food for rust..."
...ok, thanks for that...

How can this even be a question? You're making Brawn angry! It's a question because the heads are different! It's interesting that, even though they've tweaked the body and arms to give it much more humanoid proportions, how much of the toy's detail has been carried over even on the head!

I can't vote. The two are completely different. The toy bears only the slightest resemblance to the animation model (mostly the chest) and the faces suit their respective bodies perfectly.
If I do vote, I'll vote toy, because it came first.

It's not a difficult question for me because the best/defining Brawn story had him looking like the toy. All the stories (animated or print) where he's drawn with a human face are lesser appearances by our hero. *throws giant boulder at F-15 jet fighter* Martin

Bugger - I never actually voted in this. So it's just as well I agree with the final result, because of course best Brawn is Enemy Within Brawn! And I'm not just saying that so I don't get him angry.

Windcharger. He's only got two heads. Gears had three at one point, I think. Or was it Sideswipe who had the mirrored Cobra Commander-style head?

Waspinator is a matter of his toy having two heads, the cartoon designers choosing one and mucking with the colours.
We do need to hold the BW cartoon designers to account for something they did with the heads, thank you for reminding me.

Gears Mirrored Cobra Commander head? *Technically* Huffer has three heads: Toy, Cartoon square hood and Cartoon round hood, used in TFU

Gears and Sideswipe both had the same head, it seems. In MUS#1 during the roll call, Gears has an odd mirrored egg affair. In The Enemy Within! it's given to Sideswipe for the first issue.
The wiki points out the error on the Enemy Within page, but no idea where the design came from.

Most of them come down to the toy having two heads and the animators choosing one over the other. And where they differ, you can see what and where they changed for artistic purposes. Where as with G1 they would often completely throw away the toy design and make up one from scratch. I can't think of a single strong BW candidate for this poll. The few that do drastically differ are either still heavily based on their toy (Blackarachnia, Scorponok), or could be argued that the characters aren't in their more familiar earth forms (tripredacus council) Beast Machines Jetstorm BM Tankor BM Thrust BM Blackarachnia BM Optimus Primal Are all pretty good candidates.

Another easy one, though if I were Ralph I would cry illegal poll for labelling his inferior head his 'comic' head. He had the superior (toy) head in most of his stories. Martin
