I have a feeling that the toy heads will win every time with me. They ate much more interesting and look like something from an alien robot that wasn't built by humans for some reason.
Until we get the Ratchet of course. And that will depend on wether we will be counting his windshield as part of his face.

I don't think they'll all be as easy for me as Brawn, Windcharger and Ratchet, whose iconic comic stories all had a consistent head design (toy for Brawn and Windcharger, red head for Ratchet). Controversially I've gone cartoon/human face. I love his toy face, but I just think the character suits a humany face. Maybe. I reserve the right to change my mind. |

'Deadly Paradise' is a charming little hardback storybook for kids, like the Ladybird books, that goes along quite nicely until the author suddenly tests his editor with the line "Windcharger flew to the rescue, grabbing Starscream in his huge arms and squeezing him with such magnetic might that the Decepticon screamed for the very last time." And it got past the editor, and the artist tfwiki.net/wiki/Angus_McKie (2000 AD etc.) thought, "Hey, I can draw that!" And that got past the editor too. I guess they just thought, ah, it's robots, who cares? Toy Windcharger is awesome. He saved Prime in 'And There Shall Come a Leader', defeated Guardian, threw Megatron through the roof of a volcano saving Prime again, killed Starscream. There is nothing he cannot do! Martin |

Windcharger is one of those guys I automatically default to the toy head. And unlike most of the others, I can see where the designers were looking when they changed it, so I can almost see the toy head in the animation model.
And I think Ratchet's crest is grey in the cartoon.

Martin JESUS!! Windcharger will FUCK YOU UP. And quite rightly, too - he's got powers of magnetism, and these are metal beings - he should be the most powerful Transformer of all. Everyone should shit out an oily stream of ball bearings at the slightest mention of his name - that's how powerful he is. And why he spends most of his comic time offline or Somewhere Else. But anyway, to the matter in hand (those deadly, deadly hands): Well it has to be the toy head, doesn't it? It's just so much more interesting. And, as has been pointed out already, the head he has in most of his comic appearances. |
