Cybertron Prime is less in need of an update than Armada.
But the reality is that listing is almost certainly movie studio series, for that leader class "evasion" Optimus.

Jetfire's back on the cards! No wait, isn't Studio Series supposed to be slavishly accurate to scale? The other Prime was a voyager wasn't it?

Actually, now that I look at the product codes again, I am less sure of Optimus being Siege than I was Shockwave, as I have less codes to test a pattern. But if forced to put money on it, I am still picking Siege!

My money for the mysterious leader class optimus goes towards being the leader class optimus toy that we've seen to exist, over being the one that's only a hypothosis.

I am intrigued by the outcome of this- our TF collector reputations are now at stake! One of us will remain elite, one of us will be relegated to casual fan status!

Did I not see that the 3rd leader is an Optimus? Edit- as in these Wal-Mart reveals showed Optimus to be the third leader?

Yep- it was that exact post! I just assumed it drew all its conclusions from the Walmart listings.

Nope. Mixed bag of evidence, but most of what we "knew" is authenticated by the Wal*Mart listing.

Holy frak, UM OptimuCab is slightly smaller than Optimus Prime, in addition to not being an Optimus repaint or retool??? I REALLY LIKE THAT!!!

Like no... like, I really like that! It gives him so much more personality. It's everything I love about a proper Ultra Magnus, but actually completely unique in and of himself. He's not only a bit shorter, he's also stockier.

Which means if Siege Magnus returns as a Prime remould, then this line will feature Optimus Prime and... a slightly shorter Optimus Prime.

Holy frak, UM OptimuCab is slightly smaller than Optimus Prime, in addition to not being an Optimus repaint or retool??? I REALLY LIKE THAT!!! I'm not sure whether I do or don't. I mean, I knew cab Magnus was at least a slight re-tool of cab Prime, but a totally different mold... weird. It's good that they're different, and I do actually appreciate that. But... one of the things that was cool as a kid was plugging Prime into Magnus' trailer - which I know wasn't canon, but I was a child, which is what these things are aimed at. I think that Prime's inability to wear the armour will be frustrating for many. Including adult me, who would've liked to have had the option. And also maybe for Takara, who won't be able to easily put out crazy repaints. That said though, there's *got to be* a classic, G1-chest Siege Magnus cab coming from Takara. I can only imagine how raging they are that it's mixing two styles at once. After all, they were forced to retool TR PM Prime. On the other hand though, it's complete-alignment time, so maybe they'll just suck it up. Strange times, certainly. And at the very least, interesting.

A Leader Jetfire would be welcome. But why oh why a Leader Optimus and Megatron when we've alteady got pretty decent looking Voyagers?! That cash could've gone to new molds! New characters! More PROWLS! Jetfire and Megatron are Studio Series, not WFC Siege. Op is thought to be the WFC Siege toy. Oh ok. Good on both accounts (I've no interest in Movie Studio!). Apart from no Jetfire. He's not high on my list, but might've been nice, household favourite. So, a Leader Siege Optimus Prime... Ultra Magnus repaint?

Ultra Magnus repaint? Retool of some description, you'd suspect with a just sub Voyager ish size toy merging into his trailer. Other retools found so far are Aimless/Caliburst (chest, head & waist), Big Shot & Red Heat (almost everything) and Sideswipe & Red Alert. I'll be surprised if Thundercracker & Skywarp don't milk Starscream. Ratchet is almost certainly Ironhide and Sixgun may well be one of the previous Weaponisers.

Hur hur hur... To add to Phil's excellent summary of the situation thus far - some people have assumed that a Prime remould from Leader Magnus would end up being a homage to Cybertron Prime because of the truck mode similarities:

The more I see it the more I think I'll pass on Magnus. I don't think its any better than the CW one (other than having a transforming cab robot) and it seems to suffer more than most from over detailing and battle damage.

I'm not convinced I need the Magnus either, despite being a big fan of the character. I think the CW one is better. If it comes down to the £35 price point I might get one.

Red Thighs cannot be bettered.
(Well, he could if you remove the whole Minibus Ampule nonesense...)
He freakin' towers over Siege Prime though...

Wave 1 I'm waiting on Smyths etc, just hoping the prices will be lower, but I am sorely tempted by a Magnus pre-order. Although the battle damage deco is really, really terrible on that figure, which puts me off paying full price for it.
If nothing else I'm tempted to wait until others have it in-hand to try and gauge how easy it would be to remove or if I'd be looking at painting over it (I'm not particularly great at customising, but I'd give it a try - but no way on a figure I've paid full price for).

I'm intrigued to see how the Magnus turns out though the Japanese version of CW Magnus was pretty much perfect for my needs.

Between MP Magnus and CW Magnus, I'm pretty well covered on the G1 and IDW front, but I must admit the gimmicks of the white inner robot and turning into God Magnus' alt mode are what's grabbing me about this version.
