I worry that I've lost my taste. I actually prefer POTP Rodimus in comparison to the Kingdom toy.
The POTP toy gave us a Hot Rod that combines with its trailer to become Powermaster Rodimus, whereas the Kingdom toy has a stress-inducing transformation and a trailer full of explosive effects. Yeah, it's got more detail, but I'm a simple soul that doesn't want to spend 20 minutes on the transformation.

I just can't believe they blew the commander slot on an oversized Hotrod with an overpriced accessory, when they could have taken ER Optimus and turned it into a proper Ultra Magnus, instead.
Or an Optimal Optimus. Or Torca, Magnaboss, or Tripredacus.
I mean, waisting it on Rodimus (who would have been better as a leader with an integrated vehicle mode like the majority have been asking for since Classics updates were a thing), they could have at least been creative and reimagined the original "cab" toy as a pick-up or truck cab.
...or at minimum integrated the car into the trailer. I mean they managed that much with both MP and the much cheaper PotP version.

So the Rodimus I got in the Pulse sale came in yesterday.
I am so sososo soooooooo glad I didn't pay full price for this.
He's not worth Commander price.
Aside from have storage space for the blast effects I'd rather not exist, the trailer does less than ER Optimus's trailer.
Rodimus himself is a hot mess to transform. Total pain in the ass, and way more complicated than he needs to be.
I feel like I would appreciate this much better if it had been more G1 faithful, since they decided to ignore the integrated Rodimus Prime everyone has been asking for, since Classics began.
If he hadn't been a silly giant Hotrod, and instead been the Hotrod styled truck that the original was (only better realized), I feel like I'd respect this more.
But all said, he is big. He's like a wolf, or moose. You are not prepared for exactly how big he really is.
His size is genuinely impressive.
His tenuous barely existent connection to his "trailer" aside, he's pretty solid in both modes.
I hate his hands, though. Weirdly jointed, and do not ever look natural, however you pose them. I feel like the only reason for it is so he can point at Galvatron.
Not fond of his proper gun, either. It's too long to use with one hand, yet the two posts are too close together for him to pose with in both hands.
That said, most of the reasons I dislike this, I think would work in favor for SG Rodimus, if they ditch the "trailer."
