I was going to say. I was thinking that maybe a re-release for Cheetor was a bit much, especially since I'm not convinced he was a top seller anywhere, but Wheeljack really is pushing it. If they're going to be giving us stuff from *Earthrise* again, they could at least give us toys that were hard to get, like the Battlechargers, rather than these shelf-warmers. Choosing Wheeljack and Arcee the first time in Kingdom was bad enough. Of all the really hard to find toys from ER, those two were not it. ER Wheeljack is still the easiest to find, combined with his netflix redeco. It really doesn't make sense they keep choosing Wheeljack, Arcee, and Starscream repeatedly, when so much of ER got the covid shaft. The only thing I can think is that they actually massively over-produced those toys expecting to ship more in the original lines or just higher demand in general, and now they're having to get rid of them like this. Or they just in general over-estimated the popularity of these characters. Whatever the case, it's a daft decision. Whether or not they go this way, I believe the pack in tape was the robot specifically to package Twincast with Flipsides:  It's the only reason it makes any sense to me. Otherwise Steeljaw or Ramhorn would have been a much more obvious choice. It is entirely likely that they'll do this, as they do seem to be going through a weird period of staying faithful to original interpretations of more obscure characters. On the other hand, this is Hasbro. So we'll see. |

I'd say Arcee and Wheeljack were chosen again because they are names in the new film - which was was originally going to be out this year. Oh yeah. Or that. That makes a lot more sense. |

I wonder if we are going to get G1 Prime again? Seen nothing of Megatron apart from BW one stated. I expect if G1 it'll be tank again. They do need to do work on the design now.

I suspect he got a lot wrong. Particularly the cockpit sticking out in tank mode.

Yep, Blitzwing looks superb. I love the cockpit sticking out in tank mode! So reminiscent of the G1 toy! Outstanding G1y goodness. I might have to dip back here.

The Titans Return one is certainly a brilliant figure, and the jet and tank modes are better than this one, but I can't get past the stumbling block that he looks wrong with Siege Astrotrain. They look like they're from totally different toy lines, because as Phil said, they essentially are.
On a recent sort out I realised I never opened T30 Blitzwing, or Doubledealer, so I've got a whole version of Blitzwing there I never looked at. I know that one had that shoulder problem though.

This is it. The end result of trying to achieve Sunbow accuracy at any cost, and it's awful. It's just awful. Because it defies any actual sense.
Those robot mode wings? They're not the jet wings. The robot legs become the wings. Why does he have wings in robot mode then? Because the animation model does. Why don't the jet wings become the robot mode wings? Because the animation model doesn't work with a real world transformation scheme.
That cockpit sticking out in tank mode? It's only there because the animation model had one, and that was based on a mistake! But the worst thing? That's a faux cockpit sticking out there! Look at the canopy - that's not the jet canopy! In fact, it's the underside of the jet canopy. Look closely at the jet and you can see a secondary canopy on the underside of the nosecone. They have deliberately engineered the toy to have faux kibble just so it can match a terrible animation model.
Can they please stop, now? Just stop. We get it. Sunbow was something people liked. Great. Now stop. Now give us Transformers again, where robots have bits of car hanging off because the robot mode is the thing that's the compromise in order to get a decent vehicle mdoe. Please. Let's just move on.
No, having to solo parent and work at the same time whilst Jo isolates with Covid isn't getting to me at all. Why do you ask?

It's on the animation model.  But only on the toy if mistransformed?   I don't have a G1 Blitzwing so I've never noticed that. So Hasbro have made a new toy based on an animation model that has a mistake due to a mistransformed toy!?! |
