Changing long established habits is not easy, for all sorts of reasons.
Core Snarl is the only one of yesterday's preorders to sell through on Pulse overnight, not a surprise as the Dinobot Cores have been consistently strong sellers and this is the complete the set toy for them. I suspect there may be many people out there who are buying one for the figure, one for the combiner or as it's also known "doing a Phil"
I'm a little surprised neither Bombshell (also complete the set) or Bludgeon (hugely popular toy with no recent decent Generations update) sold out.
I suspect the recent exclusive apocalypse is having an effect on the mainline.

I'd say so. Being able to buy the toys you want when you want has always been a luxury. Right back to Christmas '84 and the scarcity of Optimus Primes.
I remember when a Prowl turned up in my local Menzies and I had to borrow the milk money from Mum to get him before the boy over the road did. Cut throat business buying toys, even in those days.

It's a terrible mold for her. Her proportions are so weird, she still looks like a cosplayer to me.
Both she and Bludgeon are on a razor's edge. Both are truly terrible "updates" that fail the characters badly.

Shadowstriker arrived at the weekend
Nice toy, if possessing some odd and interesting aspects to the TF... which was partially why I got her instead of waiting for Sideburn.
I got the TF nearly exactly right from the pictures: the folding up spine reminds me of something - I know the Highbrow family of Titans Return moulds collapsed the spine using sliding parts but I could swear I've seen one that folds up too - any ideas?
The shoulders are odd, attached to the panel at the back rather than the sides of the body. So they rotate round relative to the back, giving them out to the side movement, and hinge forwards. Again it reminds me of something but can't think what.
Roof hinge needed some persuading to peg into the arm, too many parts moving in different directions, but once on it can stay there in both modes. Hinge is clever, doesn't matter which arm it's on it'll be OK in car mode.
Back plate doesn't anchor in place as well as I'd like and since the arms are attached to it it's a bit prone to popping off when I move them.
But I like it, it appeals to me.

Core Op with Trailer & BB arrived today
Proper toy this, enjoying it lots, though possibly a tad steep. Trailer is FAB, first trailer for a small mainline Optimus, Has a stand so doesn't need the Op to support it. Control tower cab can attach to Roller. Roller can pull the Trailer.
Has made me realise that my Kingdom Core Op has been missing the panel that covers his head in vehicle mode for 2 and a bit years!

I'm glad I never bothered to get Optimus, because I had Bee, and now that I have him, I am unimpressed with Optimus.
Had I gotten the OG release, I'd have skipped this set.
