2023 Run #37. About 5.05 miles. Unusually speedy this time, helped by the Picard S3 score.

2023 Run #38. About 5.19 miles. Managed to post my local election votes in a post box while whizzing by and not stopping. In my head, I was Luke Skywalker getting that shot into the Death Star vent.

2023 Run #41. Four miles ish. You might think it an idiotic idea to go for a run the day after a spell in A&E and you would be right.
Ok for a while but triggered the terrible pain of yesterday so had to stop. That hasn't happened before on a run.

2023 Run #42: not been on a run or walking in the last few weeks due to ill health. The effect on my mental health from inactivity has not been good so easing myself back into exercise.
Took it very slowly and a shorter route than usual.
3.66 miles. Shorts and t-shirt tighter than a month ago, but to be expected. Not without discomfort.
That will do for this week.

This week has been a toil - got out twice for 5 k each time, but the heat made them absolute grinds. Damn near killed me as I do them when I finish work at 5pm so sun beating down on me. Can't do them early doors as I'd be sweating all day, and later on at night I just can't do that, and also don't want to lie in bed sweating profusely.

Managed a short 2023 Run #45 after work. Gave up after a while due to abdominal pain and walked the rest of the way.

2023 Run #53: managed another full run and made it up the Hill of Death for the first time since April.
Some ball shocks as I set off. Been a while.
Severe thigh chaffing. Screams in the shower afterwards.
Some unkind stares from folk. Yes, I am middle aged with a gut but I'm trying.
11 weeks to half-marathon.

2023 Run #54: multiple sock malfunctions meant I had to stop for a while after half an hour. After repairs, managed the rest of the run. More difficult this time as the chronic pain is surging again but this is necessary for mental health.
