I’d love to see them have a go at mini-bots, though agree it would be a bit of a feat of engineering. Maybe just Bumblebee and Cliffjumper as the two best-known, and to get the most out of shared engineering? Yes yes yes! I hope Takara can find a way to ramp up this line, I can't imagine many releases I wouldn't buy.

I'm starting to wonder if there's a single transformer that I wouldn't buy in this style. Lack of funds probably going to be the killer.
How much for a Metropex??!! Or Omega???
Why didn't they come up with this a decade ago when I had far more disposable income??

Nice to see that this one has the proper head! It has been a while since we've seen a Bumblebee with his proper face! This pleases Karl.

Found the original thread from 2018 considering the possibilities of such a line... tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/10165/g1-tweakedSeeing 80's moulds with extra articulation disturbs me. It is the Uncanny Valley of toys! Fingernails down a blackboard! -Ralph Have you changed your mind now? I was struggling to imagine the cars but based on the pics Pinwig posted in that thread, they will work really well.

Ah! I knew we had those photos somewhere but could I find them? Yes, look at that Bluestreak. Come on Takara, if fans can custom those - you can give us that.

I'd not considered them doing the minibots, due to size and profit margins, but definitely in for these, and if they do yellow Cliffjumper, and G2 chromed Bumblebee, they've got me.

These will be car body reshells of the same black robot parts? A further thought: Are these using the original car body parts?

I think everybody who has liked Prime will want to be in on Minibot variants. The multitude of varieties of the originals has always been an appealing thing but cost prohibitive. This would be a chance for more people to play. How much do we think they'll be by the time they've been imported from Japan? £30 each? Also, what packaging style will they go for? Cards, I guess, which will mean lots of people will get 2 of each

If they are sticking with the Takara versions it will be the little boxes.
I think they'll be roughly £20-25 each in Japan and we'll be paying £30-40.
Given the sheer volume of remoulds and repaints I hope Takara are sensible and keep the price as low as possible to encourage multiple purchases.

I hope it's the boxes and thinking about it some more, you're right and I have a reasonable amount of faith that Tak will be true to their product and do that. But it will be tempting for them to do packaging that's harder to preserve.
The pricing will be so interesting. Will it be 'gotta catch 'em all' or 'ouch this is starting to hurt'. I'd love to know what their plans were and whether they've changed. Hopefully ML is doing as well in Japan as it seems to be here. It will also be interesting to see what Hasbro thinks of the whole line.

It will also be interesting to see what Hasbro thinks of the whole line. I think ML is doing fine in Japan. It sold out at all the Japanese retailers Ive checked including Amazon and second hand its going for more than retail. Comparing size, parts and complexity of original Prime and Bee then looking at cab only ML Prime at £60, I dont think its unreasonable to hope ML Bee and CJ could come in at under £30. At that price I'll happily pick up a new repaint or remould every 3 or 4 months for quite a long time. More than that, the novelty will wear off.

I'm in! Hoping for but not expecting Glyph and Tap-Out later on... You've got 4 named remoulds, each of which has at least 4 preexisting recolours (probably a lot more, some will be only slight variations), but as most arent exactly new characters I imagine the few that are will be higher on the list.
